  1. I have no doubt that the Mets can beat Halladay; we need look no farther than Roy's last start when Houston bested him. But I will still be realistic that we are the underdog. I will be satisfied with winning one of the 3 games in Philly this series and happy with winning 2.

  3. We actually won 2 rubber games on the road in September last year, on 9/8/10 at Washington and 9/26/10 at Philadephia. We lost the 8 other road rubber games that year. The last time we WON a road rubber game when we weren't hopelessly out of the playoff race was probably June 7, 2009 in Washington.

  5. Tim Byrdak - 905
  6. Was trying to forget that inning on Capuano's behalf.
  7. That's a lot of high sock action in today's game: Wright Reyes Dickey Capuano Carrasco

Maybe not exclusively, but Rodriguez is looking at some definite opening day harshness. No doubt, but that was determined in August 2010. He could've saved the first 6 games in a row this year and still would be booed on Friday.
  9. DJ Carrasco - 903
  10. I wonder how much Nickeas has caught a knuckleball, too. On Dickey: apparently he is going to climb Mount Kilamanjaro this offseason. Does anyone else remember those Dos Equis "Most Interesting Man in the Whole World" commercials? Because that's what I think of each time I hear another one of these Dickey stories...

  14. Thanks. Gameday only tonight for me.
  15. What did Thole just do? Singles and then out 9-3???
  16. What a douchebag. Screw you.
  17. Harris 1.5 Beato 1 Beltran 1
  18. BAD inning there that doesn't show in the box score. First the sleeping on the job by the pitchers to allow the two steals and the the bad play by Davis (should have been an error).
  19. Wow? Spike Lee's a douchebag? I never would have guessed! SC = infinity
  20. Big two-run triple for Michael Bourn, plus a sac fly to follow and it's 4-0 Astros. Guess that pitching staff isn't so great if there isn't also a 'pen and offense to back it up.

  22. Halladay plowed through the Astros in order in the first two innings. I give him at least a 35% chance of throwing a no-hitter today (yes, the Astros are that bad).
  23. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: I have a "Meats" shirt. Tell us about it. What is the attraction? Is there a joke somewhere that we're missing? At what events or occasions do you plan to wear it?
  24. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: I believe Paul "UniWatch" Lukas is behind that particular fashion. He wore it last time I saw him at the game. Seems so out of character for him, with his otherwise good taste in Mets-related apparel.
  25. Forget that stupid Mets/Phillies shirt discussed elsewhere -- THAT (see LWFS post above) is a product that I just don't get. Who would buy (and wear) such a thing?
