  2. Same thing here. If you asked me whether that series went 5 or 6 games, I couldn't tell you with any certainty. --- On a related note, every time I see this thread at the top of the forum I think to myself that I can't think of any MFYs who aren't douchbags.

For Kris Benson and Jeff Keppinger? (On the same day that the Mets got Bautista from the Royals for Justin Huber)? Nothing? This has been discussed several times recently in other threads. He was never really Mets property.
  10. I'll take a triple play right here, thanks Pedro.

  12. Two thoughts: 1. I know I am not the only person who believes the "paid attendance" numbers reported (and that Silver is relying upon) are themselves inflated and/or fudged. 2. Friendly ushers? He's kidding, right?
  13. Last-chance reminder in the event anyone is interested in going tonight.
  14. I know there are several people from here headed to Pittsburgh for the series on June 10-13. If you are headed there and have NOT yet bought tickets for the Sunday, June 12 game, please send me a PM. I have a pair of outstanding tickets that I can't use due to a unexpected emergency. On top of the fact that tickets at PNC Park are already cheap (by NY standards, anyway), I am happy to move them at a substantial CPF discount.
  15. Yes, they donate all proceeds to the Welcome Back Veterans group. Hats are still fugly.
  16. Ashie62 wrote: Why does Pelfrey get 5's against the Phils? Is that the bar for a quality start without a win? I think it depends a lot on how many points a voter is willing to give away in a relatively close loss. I think 5 is a bit too much but it's close. I figure he earns a minimum of 3 for going into the 8th and givng up only 1 run. Even if he's docked points for the second run (tough call; yes, it was his runner, but it was on first with 2 outs when he left) 2 runs in 8 innings is pretty good. Some bonus consideration is also potentially warranted for degree of difficulty against a tough opponent. Low scoring also merits some additional points as it makes Pelfrey's pitching that muh more crucial to the (potential) outcome of the game.

  18. I think it will come down to how much (if any) of their real estate holdings they are willing to liquidate to maintain control of the team. If Sterling either A. prevails or B. negotiates a favorable settlement, there's no reason why they can't continue to be a highly successful real estate enterprise. But if -- in order to keep the Mets -- they have to pay $200 million to Einhorn (as reported) after paying a substantial amount to the trustee, that might not be possible. I think we'd need substantially more information about the Sterling Real Estate business to be able to make a truly informed guess.

  23. I actually think this week's map makes pretty good sense, with the possible exception of Richmond, VA getting the Boston-Detroit game.
  24. Is there even a secondary market for Mets tickets anymore? Anyway, an unforseen emergency has me now holding tickets I can't use. Happy to give them away to some CPF member(s) if there's any interest: [crossout:3pqcpunk]2 tickets for Friday's game against the Phillies[/crossout:3pqcpunk] [crossout:3pqcpunk]2 tickets for Monday's game against the Pirates[/crossout:3pqcpunk] 2 tickets for Tuesday's game against the Pirates Glad to see these going to some good CPF homes.
