  1. Either way, he should be back just in time for our series against the Cardinals.
  2. Albert Pujols?
  3. Not quite the same as last year's rookie class, eh?
  4. Should've had this game, and I really thought we would, especially with 2 on and nobody out in the 9th. Maybe it was unrealistically raised hopes/expectations but this loss was really disappointing.

  6. Time to rebound and start a nice winning streak against the weak sisters of the Junior Circuit.
  7. soupcan wrote: I agree, but as I said in a post in the 'Don't trade Reyes' thread, Einhorn may not be in 'sign Reyes' camp simply because losing Jose may facilitate the Wilpons inability to pay the guy back his $200 mil. I guess it comes down to which outcome Einhorn would prefer: his $200M back or obtaining majority ownership for only $2,000,001. Either way it's still going to be a good investment.
  8. I'm sorry, can you please pass me something sharp that I can just stick in my eye instead?

  12. My testicles can't take this shit. Too many kicks.
  13. One more hit to really crack this open...
  14. I bet R.A. will tell you it could be worse.

  16. Eliminating the leagues is great but would require eliminating the DH in the American League (tough sell).
  17. G-Fafif wrote: Just goes to show you how far Interleague has fallen, or how it never really got going. It was supposed to be a big deal when it came along (when it had a June component and a late August component). Now, throughout the current Mets road trip, when they run commercials to get out to Citi Field for the next homestand, they don't even bother mentioning the opponents. No "come see the Angels and A's who only show up once in a great while!" If anything, it's probably a liability, or no more appealing than "come see the Diamondbacks and Padres!" The Mets' commercials aren't exactly the last word on this. Interleague play still results in attendance increases across MLB. Some of that is attributable to a few particularly high-drawing road teams (Yankees and Red Sox) but the novelty clearly hasn't worn off at the box office generally.
  18. Well, we got one additional run at least.
  19. I don't know. I think it would be ok. It would certainly offer the opportunity to balance the schedule more. However, any proposal that INCREASES the number of playoff teams is unacceptable.

  21. Theoretically, although that includes game #2 of the year (pulling the team to 1-1) and game #8 (to make the Mets 4-4). In more recent attempts, they hit .500 after defeating the Yankees on May 22; attempts to reach .500 on both Saturday and Monday didn't work.
  22. Harris is apparently 7-14 lifetime + 2 walks against Jurrjens (credit to Rubin via Twitter). I wonder if Tejada at 3rd and Murphy at 2nd is a stronger defensive alignment.
