Nolan Ryan won't be joining his 1969 teammates at Citi Field on June 29, according to Steve Marcus of Newsday. Also unable to reunite will be Al Weis, Ken Boswell, Gary Gentry and coach Joe Pignatano, along with, as we already learned, Tom Seaver.
The Schaeferbot believes Jacob deGrom pitched for an inning Sunday when in fact deGrom's participation was limited to completing Jason Vargas's at-bat after Vargas left the game with a leg cramp (Jake walked). Likewise, the Schaeferbot has a hard time picking out pitchers' hitting performances, as Steven Matz's home run on Friday does not show up in its box score. This isn't to say we don't love and appreciate the Schaeferbot. It's just that it sometimes gets a little confused.

Sticking around mostly because his arm is fresh; a move will have to be made (Gsellman left tonight's debacle with a stiff back). Brooks Pounders has ruined my weekend in New York. I'm en route to Syracuse with Tim Peterson.
