  1. I'm messing around. I see no reason a team that owns its own network doesnt show 99% of the games, though
  2. Who said they love the fans?
  3. i could work out well for him or it could blow up in his face, certainly the riskier road.

I don't admire the Yankees, I just acknowledge that their ownership has consistently spent like a big market team should. I want the Mets to spend like a big market team too. Like the Dodgers. Wilpon loves the Dodgers, he should try to be more like the Dodgers.

  7. The manager being there counts as "team apptoved activity" in my book, even if the GM isn't there.
  8. Wait - so the company says "all sharks were released"? If so, I really dont have much of an issue with it. I'm with you Seo, no interest in doing it myself, but I don't mind others catching and releasing (or catching and eating any non endangered species) - its the "catch it and waste it" that bothers me.

Hoskins (LF), Crawford (SS), Alfaro ©, Kingery (2B), Herrera (CF), Nola, Velazquez seems like a fairly good young core. you can always buy relievers and the positions they need long term (RF, 3B if Franco sucks, 1B if Santana doesnt pan out - or LF if you move Hoskins back) aren't the hardest to fill in free agency either. Everyone expects they'll start spending soon as well as they recently hit a huge windfall TV deal (and arent using it to pay off Picard)
  10. Its the All-star break. The Mets are raking, but Harvey and Matz both suck bhmc and the Mets need a legit #3 behind cy young contenders Syndergaard and deGrom, but never fear! The Mets have an abundance of riches with Plawecki and dArnaud both smashing the ball and staying healthy. Trade bait!

  12. I haven't seen it, but just need to say "what the he'll were they thinking?" On the long title? You couldnt think of something a LITTLE more catchy, easier to Google if you saw an ad, etc?
  13. Rumble Ponies is so fucking lame. Why not give them a name designed to SELL jerseys?

  15. Google 'NBA v Motorola'
  16. The leagues wouldnt have a legal leg to stand on trying to force casinos to give them a cut. That's why they are doing the extensive lobbying for one with the govt now.
  17. Manfred opposes a legalized sports betting scheme... unless he gets a cut! http://www.espn.com/chalk/story/_/id/22625761/sports-betting-legalization-defeated-absent-league-involvement
  18. sure, but i don't think that is in his likely range of outcomes.
  19. d'Kong76 wrote: #3 in the 2018 CPF Rankiings Project, All-Star. I'll say this - if he is #3, we are a 75 win team again. A 90 win Mets team has bigger contributions from Syndergaard, deGrom, Cespedes, & Conforto with hopefully a 3rd starter or a surprisingly good Rosario providing more value as well.
  20. this is from 2-3 years ago so it may have changed: "A minimum of four players who were regulars on the previous year’s Major League team or who were platooned on the previous year’s Major League team on a regular basis, or who have a reasonable chance to be regulars on the Major League Club’s squad during the upcoming season should make road trips. Each of those regulars, excluding pitchers, must play a minimum of three complete innings."
  21. So you just don't need to even pretend to send major leaguers on ST road trips anymore?
  22. Edgy MD wrote: The good news is that Tim Tebow is on the "extras" list for today's game. that's a relief. we might need him if the mascot goes down with an arm injury and we need someone to throw t-shirts to the crowd between innings!
  23. Instead of making some crazy collusion claim that they cant prove, MLBPA decided to test the waters by suing the Marlins, A's, Pirates, & Rays accusig them of not meetig their obligation to spend revenue sharing money on improving the team. http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/22595160/mlbpa-files-revenue-sharing-grievance-miami-marlins-oakland-pittsburgh-pirates-tampa-bay-rays Since money is fungible, and i presume each team spends at least its revenue sharing money, i dont see how they prove anything. there is nothing in the CBA (but there should be) saying the teams need to spend OTHER money! But Jeter is getting sued. awesome!
