  1. fuck shit damn. its never gonna happen.
  2. I have no problem letting him do it but only after the Mets have clinched or been eliminated, now is not the time for bullshit.you can't do it in a blowout win as that is the equivalent of running up the score in a football game.
  3. if you're asking me who i want "for the future" (next year and beyond) my order would be: Pedro, Seo, Benson, Heilman, Traschel, Zambrano, Glavine, Ishit.if you're asking who i'd rather have right now for the stretch run the OP's order was right on.
  4. this team plays like shit every time there is even a hint of a win streak in them.
  5. go mets...now PLEASE find a way not to turn this into a bad roadtrip again. i reccomend sweeping arizona, i hear its not hard and its fun! i have not seen the broom guy in a long time.
  6. Guerrero WAS a big risk due to his back. The risk has payed off for Anaheim. Not every wise decision turns out well and not every unwise one turns out poorly.
  7. i'm willing to give a second chance but not a third, fourth, fifth... please put this guy in JAIL already, his continuously getting off easy is a bad example for everyone reading about it in the sports section.
  8. ] It seems like there's a general increase in the level of rudeness and lack of consideration for other peopleblame the internet.
  9. Edgy DC wrote:Easily the worst win ever?Yes, as in i've never left the ballpark after a win with such little joy.dorry i didnt see your reply till now i dont usualy check IGTs the day after
  10. ]Presumably Trachsel - but that would leave the pen w/o a lefty at all. since Koo wasn't allowed to pitch in meaningful spots it doesnt really matter.
  11. Johnny Dickshot wrote:If a team makes the playoffs they deserve to be there.Anything can happen in a 5 game series.very true. and this isn't the NBA... "unworthy" teams very rarely make the playoffs.
  12. ]This is a quote from The Daily News:"...Hielman was serenaded with chants about Hitler, Danny Graves had his Veitnamese heritage ridiculed and Dae-Sung Koo was mocked viciously." Who are these asshole fans? Why should they even contemplate going there in regards to their own team? That kinda shit, if it has to be used at all, should be reserved for the opposition. there is no need for that bullshit, ever. if you feel the need to let the bad players (or the opposition) know how you feel don't make it personal. "boooooo" and "you suck" are quite sufficient. there is no need to insult any aspect of a player other than his baseball abilities.

    Standings

]One thing that stands out from another team: The Houston road record is at Met-like levels, but I don't much hear the same commentary from the media that they can't play on the road. Because they are winning. Wait until 2 of the NL East teams are ahead of them in the standings and we'll see if the media still isn't bashing their road record. Secondly, it's possible they have improved on the road in the 2nd half, they have certainly improved overall. The Mets on the other hand have had huge road meltdowns lately. And last, but certainly not least, a team playing in NYC will inevitably receive extra media attention and praise/criticism.
  14. i enjoy getting shmucks like you riled up, i see i've succeeded.
  15. ]This thread is so gay.if you said "This thread is so jewish" the security guards would set record time shutting you up....yes, i'm mocking someone.
  16. i think the recent "low point" in Met-loyalty had to be last summer, before Wright came up. I'm not saying now is a high point, but it's higher than it was then.personaly i can never hate BV but i'll be laughing when the yankee fans who are calling for torre's head start ripping on him. They'll miss Torre when he is gone no matter who takes his place.
  17. why "sans Diaz"? i'd be much more inclined to jettison Matsucki and his fellow 2Bmen.Diaz is hitting .260/.361/.468 in 154 ABs (~180 plate appearances.) I can't stop playing him until those numbers drop significantly.only 30 of these ABs came post all-star break (his recent callup) in which he is hitting .333/.323/.600. he hasn't walked since he came back up but extra base hits (2 homers in one game and 2 doubles) have jacked up his SLG%. he has 18 TB in his 8 games in August, including a 3 hit game and 2 2-hit games. This guy has EARNED his playing time which is more than i can say for certain other guys.is his glove good? No. but until he stops hitting well he's worth keeping in the lineup.
  18. i am always referring to the OP or the post above mine unless i quote a sentence or otherwise indicate to whom i am speaking... don't take this as sarcasm or criticism it was for everyone's future knowledge.
  19. i assumed it was your way of claiming to "bear the burden" of educating met fans who agree with the bullshit way in which the organization has been run lately, was that not it?
  20. wow, i dont remember there being a bullpen when i was that age.
  21. good form...but what are the players behind him doing? :P
  22. go cry about it. maybe you can make your icon a picture of christ carrying the cross like sal did and see if it wins you any simpathy.]Yeah, 'definetaly' ... just not here. I can't post anything controversial without getting hammered left and right. yes freedom of speech protects your right to your comments, my right to hammer them, the philly fans' right to boo santa, and even the racist's opinion. it's a wonderful thing.
  23. Keppinger has been hurt or I'd have to believe he'd have gotten his shot already. The Mets need to get rid of Matsui and only bring back ONE of the Cairo/Anderson/Woodward trio next year because there are alot of guys (hernandez, lambin, keppinger) who are probably old enough that further time in the minors is useless, its time to see if they can help or not and each deserves as many at bats as possible at 2B to show us what they can do.
  24. I tried doing it by position and it didn't work well, so instead here are all the guys that i think will still be on the roster opening day 2008 (in order of most likely to least likely.)David Wright (if they trade him i won't watch anymore), Carlos Beltran (his contract puts him ahead of...), Jose Reyes, Pedro Martinez, Jae Seo, Lastings Milledge, Heath Bell, Phillip Humber, Yusmeiro Petit, Royce Ring, Kris Benson, Mike Jacobs (in a utility 1b/lf/c/ph role.)i'd love to give Hernandez a chance to show he deserves to play 2B next year since there don't seem to be better options out there.i'm not high on Bannister at all and for some reason i think nobody would have mentioned Jacobs before today...lets remember that he fields on the same level as Piazza but without his bat...in the long run he doesnt have the glove for catcher or the bat to justify him at 1B.
  25. ]Never have I ever had the sense that the Yankees (or any other team for that matter) discriminate against Jewish fans.yeah, baseball has been pretty good about that in my lifetime...the only "discrimination" you see at Shea is age based.... if you are under 25 the ushers ask if these are your real seats, if you are older they dont even look at you.
