  1. Will the Mitchell Report surpass the Hilton sex video in number of downloads?
  2. productivity among baseball fans may have hit a new low today.
  3. Clemens is the name i was most hoping to see on this list. Pettite was a nice bonus as well. the inclusion of Chipper Jones or Derek Jeter would have been nice, but i'll take what we got

  5. you know the met-hating media goons would love that.
  6. ]He was an annoying poster from Mets.com
  7. Frayed Knot wrote: The initial (and obviously small sample so far) reaction from Houston fans is that they don't like it one little bit -- especially, I guess, because SS isn't a yawning need of theirs so long as Everett is healthy again by April. Everett is on the short list of guys who contend for "worst everyday player in the league." SS was a need for the Astros.
  8. Prediction: Fukudome puts up numbers that make the Cubs miss Cliff Floyd or Jacque Jones.

  10. ]The GM says, "We won 88 games. That's not a terrible season." You collapsed and missed the playoffs, that's a terrible season.
  11. don't forget his affair with a teenager.
  12. Minaya got majorly outplayed by the Nationals.
  13. i'm jewish and not at all offended by what church and his minister guy said. they are entitled to believe that i'm going to hell, just as i'm entitled to believe that they are idiots.
  14. 1 year 5 mil? where are the mets on deals like these, omar cant seem to sign an aging veteran for less than 2 years
  15. FUCK YOU whoever made that site.
  16. From Keith Law: ] Steven Register was a top closer at Auburn before he was drafted in 2004, but the Rockies tried to make him a starter and it didn't work. As a reliever, he has good control and a 91-93 mph fastball with some sink (although it hasn't produced a good groundball rate), and a tight slider that should be an average pitch in time. I could see him making the Mets' club in spring training, and if it saves them from going after the next Guillermo Mota, so much the better.
  17. Edgy DC wrote: It's not in an agent's interest to pin his client's salary to actual performance, but merely an optimistic projection of his performance. Pinning it to awards is a good compromise because, by definition, anybody who gets award consideration has already done good. Rewarding a guy for posting thirty win shares opens up the possibiility of screwing him for posting only three win shares. Somebody has to win the game. Somebody has to lose. The union wants both those guys to be well paid. if management wants to agree to a "single vote = 1 million" clause then let them, its their money if a dumbass writer decided to vote for a guy who doesnt deserve it.
  18. that kinda goes without saying. we'd end up with a 10 page thread about the yankees season or something again
  19. Kid Carsey wrote: So what happened with this? someone needs to appoint himself music czar and get this thing going. just tell everyone how its gonna go and get the ball rolling.
  20. reading those reports really makes it sound like FLA got hosed. but does loria really care as long as he gets dontrelle's salary off the books? its sad that their highest paid player (miguel olivo) is a replacement level guy.
  21. don't be silly, ballparks need to be built by taxpayers not rich owners.
  22. ]Florida just sucked defensively and it's likely what kept them from being a pretty good team. pitching might have helped. the team ERA was 15th out of 16 NL teams in a pitcher's park.
  23. metirish wrote: Hank has pulled out...... ] "A deadline is a deadline. It was pretty much done as of this morning," Steinbrenner said. "He's a fine pitcher, but there's a lot of things that go into this. This isn't fantasy baseball." "if he opts out he won't be a yankee next year" - hank "i've got no credibility" steinbrenner
