  1. they're all drugged up. Clearly Ordonez was on something when he suddenly trippled his previous high in homeruns in 2001.

  3. i think doc nailed it

    Today?

Rollins deserved the award, he might not have deserved a GG but i think its safe to say he had more defensive value than Wright, Fielder, or Holliday and his offense was right there with all of them. Rubin's statement is stupid, if Rollins' had hit .400 against the Mets and .250 against the league is he the MVP?

I think that stuff is over rated, if you're a bollox you're a bollox. I'm being misquoted here. I feel like Paul LoDuca. tell him that other guys on this forum speak english too
  6. great timing, i need a new car, think they can drop the price down to about $1300?
  7. i love this trade. go omar!
  8. i don't think Hernandez is part of any 5th starter "race" or the bullpen. if he's healthy and on the team he's part of the rotation
  9. ]2. The Federal Government: As bad as Bonds is, those who are calling this selective prosecution seem to have a point. Why is Bonds being singled out? While it's true that none of the other guys lied under oath, none of the other guys were forced to testify. wrong. Giambi, Sheffield, and others testified. they didn't lie. they aren't indicted. if bonds hadn't lied under oath he'd be getting away free like sheffield
  10. Castillo is already in the 3rd group. his speed is on the way out and his obp has been slipping
  11. Elster88 wrote: Somehow lots of WFAN callers have gotten access to CPF accounts and are posting in this thread. I'd love to get through to Steve Sommers sometime, never have managed that. I don't want to waste time on mike and the idiot, i tried calling them once to rebuke their idiotic assertion that Carlos Delgado (and by extention all puerto ricans) is not a citizen, but i didn't get through.
  12. Glavine blew the biggest game of the year, and he didn't even give the team a shot to win it. I know you all remember that now, but let anyone who stumbles onto "memories of tom glavine" in the archives ten years from now and reads nice rosie things about him remember that in the biggest game the mets played he couldnt get out of the 1st inning.
  13. ]The early response is Sheets/Turnbow for Milledge/Heilman. in a heartbeat.
  14. Ordonez had a higher OBP (lower SLG% though) and he hit in a lineup with less help than Arod had. Arod deserved to win the award but you can defend Ordonez's votes
  15. Garland is better than a backend guy, he'd likely pitch to an ERA under 4 in the NL, in Shea it would be almost a given. i think the Angels got a good deal, pitching seems almost impossible to find right now.
  16. even though i hate giving him 4 years there is a plus side to this- no david eckstein.
  17. Valadius wrote: Actually, both 1st place votes for Magglio came from Detroit writers - one from The Detroit News and one from The Oakland Press (from Pontiac, MI). while i don't doubt that thats true do you have a source for the vote breakdowns for all the awards (i never see one) or is this just an assumption?
  18. does anyone honestly believe than Livan is only 32? I'd start the bidding at 35...
  19. yay free draft picks!
  20. i dont like it. this guy is rapidly degenerating, by the end of this contract he'll be a huge liability. a contract like this also takes ABs away from Easley and Gotay, because lets face it, they arent benching the guy with a 4 year deal no matter who is hitting better.
  21. i'm glad torrealba is not a met.
  22. if i remember correctly the Marlins gave out Jacobs bobbleheads on their Jewish Day.
  23. DocTee wrote: With Green and Newhan gone, Omar needed to appease the Jewish fans by bringing in a token. he has appeased us already by removing newhan
  24. doesn't scrapiness just mean "short white guy with no real skills we can point to so we call him 'scrappy'"?
  25. why would the Mets even be interested in converting a SS to 2B when he is a worse hitter than any of Castillo, Easley, Gotay or Valentin?
