    Wolverine

They killed too many characters off in X-3 to really go forward from there. I don't want to see another Wolverine-only movie. I think a great idea would be a movie based on the events of the 'Age of Apocalypse'* storyline, where they could explore that alternate universe without worrying about the events of these movies but still use all the same actors and not have to call it a reboot. *briefly for those who didnt read the comics, the storyline involved an alternative universe in which Professor X had been killed many years before, Magneto took on his mantle as founder of the X-Men

    Wolverine

i finally saw this, i wasn't impressed. 2 out of 4 (2 out of 5 or 4 out of 10 on our usual scales)
  14. Well you don't just get 2 months of Lee, you either get 2 months + you sign him or you get 2 months + 2 compensation picks, including potentially a first rounder. Given that, I'd say Pagan + Mejia is fair.... but I wouldn't do it. I think the Mets are on the verge and would happily deal Mejia for a guy like Lee, but Pagan is too valuable, at least until we see Beltran out there 7 days a week healthy and producing.
  15. big failure by Wright not making contact there
  16. This Mets team is RESILIENT

    GMJ GONE

Edgy DC wrote: Thats a pretty staggering list of expensive fail*. But heres something compelling and you have no doubt noticed this: Here you have all that money spent on Suppan, Zito, Meche, Soriano, Lee, Marquis, Eaton, Pierre, Lugo, Baez, Padilla, Schmidt, Matthews, the movie star and the rest not one dime of it was spent by the New York Yankees. Despite eventually mealy-mouthing about the Jason Giambi and and Kei Igawa cases, he refuses to give the Mets the same absolution. But had they, I'm sure somebody might have pointed out the one-year-plus-option on Moises Alou, or the three-year deal on Schoeneweis. I didn't mind the Alou deal, not even when he was hurt. It was one-year and therefore very low risk. Unlike certain other deals the Mets have given out it couldn't hurt the club by tying them to a guy long after he was of any use here.
  18. enjoying the parade to the plate here. lets burn their entire bullpen for the next two days tonight!
  19. how would you like to start your career by hitting 2 batters and forcing in a run? yikes. internet has been down a few days, F U, verizon! you guys miss me? [don't answer that]
  20. wow. Paul O'Neil looks like SCREECH!
  21. theres a "sign" behind homeplate (which i have to imagine is superimposed by the TV network and not really there) that says "Ollie's Bargain Outlet, New Deals Every Day!"
  22. bases loaded sac fly for Scott, that could have been much worse. now end the inning pelf!
  23. and Jesus Feliciano follows with his first major league hit!
  24. 5-0 good guys as Carter adds another 3-run homer. I think he might lobby for a trade to Baltimore
