    CBS wrote: Derek Lowe, SP ATL News: Citing a lack of evidence, DUI and reckless driving charges were dismissed against Atlanta SP Derek Lowe on Thursday. One of Lowe's attorneys, Cory Yager, said Thursday that solicitor Raines Carter, the chief prosecutor in Atlanta Municipal Court, agreed to dismiss the charges. Yager says police video following the April 28 arrest showed Lowe "did remarkably well" in his field sobriety tests after declining a breath test. The reckless driving charge, which stemmed from an allegation Lowe was racing, "was absolutely unfounded." Oh well, I guess he played the "I'm rich, famous, and white in Georgia" card.

    Wright's been doing terrible hitting .240? but oh wait, if you are looking at more than just fantasy baseball stats, you'd see a .349 OBP entering play tonight and a BABIP 45 points lower than his career average... he's likely been as unlucky as he has been bad.

    I was there tonight as well. Citi just doesnt possess Shea's atmosphere. Hu looked like he didn't belong in the same league as Brian Wilson.

    he has incentive to do it once or twice, even if he throws the straight-as-an-arrow meatball at 88 instead of 80, as long as he doesnt lose the "closer job" in the process, which is unlikely

    Even if he doesn't do it, nobody should want him to have incentive to.

    Such a ban should happen going forward, imo. Who exactly is this situation good for? Not the Mets, who are incentivized to keep their "best" pitcher from closing. Not Rodriguez, who should probably throw one 80 miles an hour down the middle on the road if he wants his money, and whose NEXT contract could be negatively effected if he is traded and used as a setup man to avoid the contract vesting as opposed to finishing the year as a closer with the Mets or another team. Not the fans, who root against their own team in hopes of the team saving money that could help keep Reyes.
