  1. Why do we call him "Tracksuit"?
  2. So they can have that Lee-Harvey-Oswalt rotation?
  3. Can you bring Anna Benson as your date?
  4. There was a pretty informative in-game interview a few seasons ago when Gary Cohen asked those questions of Guy Conti.
  5. It would be nice if the Mets are home that weekend, although it will be almost another year until we find out if they are.
  6. I like that!
  7. Progress report: FIRST UPDATE: SECOND UPDATE:
  8. Greg's article is doing amazing things for Jeff Innis' UMDB hit count!
  9. Great ideas, but very difficult to put into place. But as I said earlier, the thought is in my mind, so I may one day decide to take on that challenge.
  10. I didn't know Jose Reyes was Jewish! Oh, and any multi-year contract carries a risk of injury. Maybe Jose is more of a risk than some others, but overall, he's been on the field a lot more than he's been off.
  11. I'll continue refining the scorecard as time permits. I'd like to get it to a point where you see the players' progress around the bases. And I want to add the totals at the ends of the rows and the bottoms of the columns, and the pitching lines too.
  12. This is something else I've been playing with. A long way from where I want it to go, but it looks pretty good at a glance:
  13. It's pretty clear that the Mets are looking to fill two roster spots (if it works out) at the minimum price. Eamus can easily provide everything that Alex Cora, for example, did but at a much lower price. And if Beato works out, he'll be quite a bit cheaper than someone like Dessens. 2011 is going to be a do-the-best-we-can-and-hope-it-works-out year, rather than a going-for-it year. Might as well flesh out the roster with cheap players who could turn out to be as good as whatever veteran they might sign for $1.5 million.
  14. Okay, thanks for the feedback! It's live for the world to see: http://www.leaptoad.com/mets/metannual.php?ThisYear=2010&tabno=C
  15. batmagadanleadoff wrote: Can you click on a bead to link to the box score for the game represented by that bead? That would be cool! You can't currently do that, but I think it might be possible. If the thought festers in my brain for a while I might give it a shot.
  16. Yes, that's true. Each bead represents a game, strung along from 1 to 162. I then draw the vertical lines through the first game played in each month. Turns out kind of funky when applied to 1981:
  17. Yeah, I'm thinking it's "Bee AAH Toe"
  18. Works two ways now:
  19. PIT: Josh Rodriguez, SS, Columbus (CLE) SEA: Jose Flores, RHP, Columbus (CLE) ARI: Joe Paterson, LHP, Fresno (SF) BAL: Adrian Rosario, RHP, Nashville (MIL) KC: Nathan Adcock, RHP, Indianapolis (PIT) WAS: Elvin Ramirez, RHP, Buffalo (NYM) CLE: No pick CHC: Mason Tobin, RHP, Salt Lake (LAA) HOU: Aneury Rodriguez, RHP, Durham (TB) MIL: Patrick Egan, RHP, Norfolk NYM: Bradley Emaus, 2B, Las Vegas (TOR) FLA: Pass LAD: Pass LAA: No pick OAK: Pass DET: No pick COL: Pass TOR: Pass STL: Pass CWS: Pass BOS: Pass SD: George Kontos, RHP, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (NYY) TEX: Pass CIN: Pass ATL: Pass SF: Pass MIN: Scott Diamond, LHP, Gwinnett (ATL) NYY: Robert Fish, LHP, Salt Lake (LAA) TB: Cesar Cabral, LHP, Pawtucket (BOS) PHI: Michael Martinez, IF, Syracuse (WAS) Is there a difference between "Pass" and "No pick"?
  20. A middle infielder who was at AAA last year seems to have a reasonable chance at staying in the big leagues for a full season with the Mets.
  21. Has the potential, especially with the 8-day suspension at the start of the season, to be the 900th Met.
  22. Jeff Francoeur to Kansas City. One year $2.5 million.
  23. I think I like that idea. When I get a chance, I'll give it a try.
  24. It does look like an abacus, doesn't it? I was thinking the same thing!
  25. I found this feature the other day. I put it together last winter, but apparently forgot about it until this week. I intend to add it to the UMDB, but for now I'll sneak preview it here: Does it appear to be self-explanatory? Or does it make you think, "huh?"
