  1. Thanks for the shout-out to the UMDB! I'm curious... which UMDB pages/features did you use to compile the list? I would have done it through SQL on the back end, but unless you hacked my database, you wouldn't have been able to do that. I'm not sure how I would have gone about it using the web pages.
  2. Gee 1.5 Herrera 1 Thole 1 Bay 1
  3. Bay 4 Byrdak 0.5 Duda 1 Herrera 1.5 Parnell 0.5 Turner 1 Wright 1
  4. [bigpurple:30dyvghq]GRAND SLAM![/bigpurple:30dyvghq] I KNEW IT!
  5. Jason Bay coming up with the bases loaded and two outs. Are you anticipating something big here? Me neither.
  6. I'll probably be willing to write off 2012 well before Ceetar will be, but I'm not there yet. Let's first see what kind of offseason they have.
  7. Looks like the throw beat the runner home, but Paulino dropped the ball.
  8. Schwinden doesn't make it through the first unscathed. Somebody (don't know who) just hit a two-out two-run double.
  9. Schwinden wearing number 63.
  10. I'm hoping the answer is yes. I'd hate to see them go out and spend $10 million or so on a closer. Let Acosta, Parnell, Stinson, and whoever else comes along cheaply battle it out in spring training and, if need be, in April and May and June...
  11. Jay, Jason, and Shannon must have had a wild three-way sex party.
  12. Maybe he's on a make-himself-tradeable drive.
  13. Oh, and the Colorado Rockies should have been the Denver Bears. And the Arizona Diamondbacks should have been the Phoenix Firebirds.
  14. Howie and Wayne reported yesterday that the Marlins are changing their uniforms next year to go with the new stadium and the new name. (They'll finally be called the Miami Marlins, which is what they should have been from the beginning.) The uniforms are supposedly going to be rainbow colored. That doesn't sound like such a good thing. I caught a few innings of the game on TV yesterday, and the Marlins were advertising their new stadium, and the logo included a rainbow above the ballpark, which looks more like a spaceship. (They got the color sequence wrong; the green should come between the blue. And it looks like their rainbow omits those pesky colors indigo and violet.)
  15. The Schaefer Mets Player of the Week for the week ending September 3, 2011 is David Wright with 9.76 points. David was also the National League Player of the Week! Voting for Tuesday night's win over the Marlins will close on Friday morning. Schaefer PotG, 9/6/2011, Mets 7 Marlins 4
  16. LeiterWagnerFosterStoner awarded 10.2 points, which were prorated as follows: duda 1.76 wright 1.67 stinson 1.37 harris 1.18 tejada 1.08 igarashi 0.98 isringhausen 0.59 parnell 0.49 nickeas 0.49 satin 0.39
  17. m.e.t.b.o.t. malfunctioned and voted for Willie Harris, who did not appear in the game. The points assigned to Harris have been discarded.
  18. I pulled this paragraph from an article on Yahoo.com: Jeff Passan wrote: One positive step [toward realignment and an additional wild card] in recent weeks, sources said, is the softening of incoming Houston Astros owner Jim Crane on moving his team to the AL West under a realignment plan that would even out the leagues at 15 teams apiece and allow six five-team divisions. Cranes reticence playing three division foes in the Pacific time zone is allayed by the Texas Rangers ability to lock in a huge TV deal in spite of their AL West affiliation as well as the possibility of negotiations offering a more balanced schedule.
  19. Jose now has enough plate appearances to qualify for the batting title.
  20. Acosta 1 Dickey 5 Duda 1.5 Reyes 1.5 Stinson 1
  21. I would have guessed Paul Molitor.
  22. Ceetar wrote: I think replacing Warthen could help, but who knows. That's your answer for everything, isn't it? Me, I think the solution would be to give tax cuts to billionaires.
