  2. About four hours before Ike Davis did.
  3. Voting for Tuesday night's win in Atlanta will close over the weekend, some time after 12 noon on Saturday. Schaefer POTG 4/8/14 - Mets 4, Braves 0

  5. If it had actual, DNA-tested Jeter barf in it, you could probably sell it for $2,000 on eBay.
  6. That would be Juanderful!
  7. I'm assuming that the vote for "Decker" above was meant for "Recker" and not "den Dekker". Johnny Lunchbucket awarded 10.5 points, and his votes were prorated as follows: Gee 3.33 Granderson 1.9 Davis 1.9 Tejada 0.95 Lagares 0.48 Murphy 0.48 Torres 0.48 Rice 0.48
  8. TheOldMole awarded 11 points, and his votes were prorated as follows: Duda 4.55 Mejia 2.73 Farnsworth 0.90 Valverde 1.82
  9. So was Nate Silver sitting around one day wondering what would have happened if Hank Aaron was more like Jason Tyner?
  10. Lagares 1.5 d'Arnaud 1.5 Familia 1 Germen 0.5 Wright 0.5
  11. I was about a month short of my 11th birthday, and was watching the national telecast and saw number 715 live as it happened.
  12. Edgy MD wrote: He could have done better in his managerial choice. But he could have done far worse. I agree with that. Terry is uninspiring, but not awful.
  13. Well, yeah, there's that. Anyway... Voting for all three games played against the Reds this past weekend will close on Thursday morning, some time after 10 a.m. Schaefer POTG 4/4/14 - Mets 4, Reds 3 Schaefer POTG 04/05/2014 Mets 6, Cincinnati 3 Schaefer POTG 4/6/14 - Reds 2, Mets 1
  14. Colon 5 Tejada 3 EYoung 2
  15. Everybody please remember, when voting for Eric Young it's "EYoung", not "Young".
  16. Don't forget Ripken passing Gehrig. When I was a kid, after Aaron had passed Ruth, I decided that there were three more Yankee records I wanted to see broken in my lifetime: Gehrig's consecutive game streak, Maris' 61 homers, and DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak. Two of the three have fallen.
  17. I don't know anyone who wallows in bad news about the Mets more than you do.
  18. I think the county lines have been gerrymandered to favor the Yankees. I'm in a county that heavily favors the Phillies. I'd have to click a lot of Like buttons to turn my county from Phillies sea green to Mets orange.
  19. No, each borough in NYC is its own county: New York (Manhattan), Queens, Kings (Brooklyn), Richmond (Staten Island) and Bronx.
  20. I added each player's age as of April 1, 2014 and the team they played for in 2013: 1) RHP - Noah Syndergaard (21, St. Lucie, Binghamton) =#FF4040](Las Vegas) 2) C - Travis dArnaud (25, Binghamton, Las Vegas, Mets) =#FF4040](Mets) 3) 3B - Wilmer Flores (22, Las Vegas, Mets) =#FF4040](Las Vegas, Mets) 4) RHP - Rafael Montero (23, Binghamton, Las Vegas) =#FF4040](Las Vegas) 5) SS - Amed Rosario (18, Kingsport) =#FF4040](TBD - short season team) 6) 1B - Dominic Smith (18, Gulf Coast, Kingsport) =#FF4040](Savannah) 7) OF - Cesar Puello (23, Binghamton) =#FF4040](Las Vegas) 8) C - Kevin Plawecki (23, Savannah, St. Lucie) =#FF4040](Binghamton) 9) CF - Brandon Nimmo (21, Savannah) =#FF4040](St. Lucie) 10) RHP - Marcos Molina (19, Gulf Coast) =#FF4040](TBD - short season team) I've now added, in =#FF4040]a weird shade of orange, the teams they're with as 2014 starts.
  21. Voting for last Thursday afternoon's loss to the Nationals will close on Wednesday morning, some time after 10 a.m. Schaefer POTG 04/03/2014 Washington 8, Mets 2
