  1. d'Arnaud 1.1 Farnsworth 0.5 Mejia 4.5 Murphy 1.1 Rice 0.4 Torres 0.2 Wright 1.1 EYoung 1.1
  2. I would say that Lagares should bump Eric from the starting lineup, Eric will bump Kirk from the bench, and Abreu will stick around, at least for a little while. Is Juan progressing? I haven't heard any updates.
  3. Number 14? Really? When I was at the game on Saturday, I noticed that the ballboy (and presumably the batboys) had BB on their backs instead of 14, which makes sense. At what point did they stop wearing the current year on their uniforms?
  4. Duda 1 Farnsworth 0.6 Granderson 0.9 Matsuzaka 1.8 Rice 0.6 Torres 1.2 Valverde 0.6 Wheeler 1.3 Wright 2
  5. CYoung 2 Colon 2 EYoung 1 Murphy 2 Wright 2 d'Arnaud 1
  6. Word is that the Mets will be adding Abreu to the big league roster in time for tonight's game. No news yet (that I've seen) regarding who will go in order to make room for him.
  7. Voting for last Wednesday afternoon's win in Phoenix will close on Tuesday morning, some time after 10 a.m. Schaefer POTG, 4/16/2014: Mets 5 D'Backs 2
  8. I was at this game and this is my first time in front of a computer since then. I was dismayed to see Valverde take the mound in the top of the 9th. I fully expected to see Matsuzaka get a second inning.
  9. I remember speculating, when he first arrived, that he might be the illegitimate son of Steve Garvey. I really had high hopes for Ike; thought he would be a big star for the Mets for a lot of years, kind of a shadow David Wright. His late season surge in 2012 restored those hopes, but when he started slow again in 2013 I gave up and accepted that he'd never be (at least, for the Mets) what I had hoped he'd be. My only remaining hope for Ike Davis is that his PTBNL is really good.
  10. I was listening to that game on the radio. Howie and Josh were speculating that Gee may have been removed because he may have been a little banged up from a collision in covering second base. The one inning he pitched after the collision was scoreless, but with three hard-hit balls. I didn't see the play at second, so I don't know how much contact Gee made with the runner.
  11. I'd rather see this player named sooner instead of later, if only to sate my curiosity.
  12. It's always shocking to see Ashie with a negative opinion of a player.
  13. I'd stop at Seaver. Statues should be the most exclusive honor of all. In descending order: [list:acp7b41p] [*:acp7b41p]Statue[/*:m:acp7b41p] [*:acp7b41p]Retired Number[/*:m:acp7b41p] [*:acp7b41p]Mets Hall of Fame[/*:m:acp7b41p][/list:u:acp7b41p]

  15. Carter would have to be depicted taking a curtain call from the dugout steps.
  16. I should also add that it would be quite a black eye for the Secret Service if they shot Mr. Met dead in front of a crowd of 50,000 people.
  17. He may even turn out to be a keeper.
  18. This thread reminds me of this, from Jeff Wilpon in History: Benjamin Grimm wrote: With hindsight, Jeff decided that it may have been a bit of a faux pas to bring Mr. Met along.
  19. That would really be a black eye for the organization, if their mascot assassinated the President of the United States.
  20. Ceetar wrote: I've never been a huge statue guy, but it'd still be neat to have one. Maybe re-imagine the Shea Goodbye pitch in the parking lot with the Shea bases? That would be another epic botch by the Mets, having their statue of Tom Seaver depict him at the age of 63. It's gotta be a 1969ish Tom Seaver, in pitching motion with his knee dragging along the ground. And it has to look like him!
  21. What's the formula for BPO? If you double and then advance to third on a groundout, do you get credit for two bases, or three?
