  1. I should create a poll to help us decide which of the two is creepier.
  2. I'm the one 2017 vote so far. I don't know if that means I'm being optimistic or pessimistic.
  3. Maybe this poll will survive as long as the one that I started after the 2011 season, concerning how many games Jose Reyes would play over the course of his contract.
  4. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he retired before the end of his contract. In fact, I think I feel a poll coming on...
  5. You're not referring to the guy with the electrified swimming pool, are you?
  6. Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. Hopefully he'll rebound and this worry will be forgotten, but right now one of the places where the Mets can most improve is third base. And that is problematic for a number of reasons.
  7. Cast your vote!
  8. Well, I didn't have 162 "THIS GAME IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR SCHAEFER VOTING" banners prepared. You may (or may not) have noticed that they've started to repeat.
  9. No offense, but I'd rather see the Mets win three games against Washington this week than see you win a thousand Conforto-RBI online contests.
  10. Here's a list of people who have voted in five or more games, through Sunday's final game in Denver. We have five people who have a perfect voting record so far, and one who's almost perfect. Remember, the more you participate the better your chances of being rewarded with an AM Crunchwrap! 11. Fredi ... Blamed ... Fired When I saw that my first instinct was to see if that was a palindrome. (Of course, it's not.) This, by the way, also is not a palindrome: "Fredi was I ere I was fired." This is a palindrome, but it suffers from not making any sense: "Derif saw I ere I was fired."
  12. Why all these veiled references to carousels? They should just call themselves the Binghamton Merry-Go-Rounds. Of those, I'd vote for Bullheads. They're all awful, but that's the least awful. I only recently learned that Binghamton is known for a particular kind of sandwich. I'd have considered naming the team after the sandwich: The Binghamton Spiedies.
  13. It's always a bad sign when the number of runs you give up in an inning is greater than the highest number you can count to without assistance.
  14. It's not really real until the CPF's "Baby Mama Watch" thread reports on it.

  16. That's good. If you didn't forgive him he'd probably jump off a curb or something.

  18. The safeguard for Wright's downtime was Flores, who's on the disabled list at the present time. They start this series banged up and on a cold streak. Not ideal, but it's only May.

  20. I've seen Duda hit the ball the other way. So he meets the "once in a while" criteria. Maybe he doesn't do it frequently enough to make the shift a bad idea, but he also probably doesn't get that many outside pitches either. As he's said, it's very hard to hit an inside pitch to the opposite field.
