Hopefully, if he does come back this season it will be with close to two weeks left in the regular season. If it takes longer than that, would the Mets consider activating him directly to a post-season roster after not playing for about five months?

I've also only been to one game, which is about par for me. The oddity is that I didn't get to a game until September; usually I go in April or May. But this hasn't been at all a typical year for me. I was interested to learn that the Mets have only won ten games this year in which they haven't homered, and the one game I attended was one of them. (Saturday, September 3.) I doubt that I'll get up to Citi Field again in 2016, but if the final weekend in Philadelphia has the Mets playing for a playoff spot, I'll be very tempted to go to at least one of those games.
I haven't read up on this, just saw the headline and thought: isn't that special. A sideshow. That's all we need. There's no chance he plays on the big club in '16, right? there's no chance he plays on the big club ever. Well, it's very unlikely that he'll play for the Mets, but of course there's a chance. But it should go without saying that he won't play for them in 2016. There are only 22 games left. He can't possibly be ready to play before the season ends.
