  1. The Mets can, of course, get back into this game, but they have to stop the bleeding. And soon!
  2. Wilmer's recovery from his wrist injury not going well. He's quoted in the Daily News today saying that he may not be able to play again this season. "It's frustrating," he says. The Mets could really use his right-handed bat. What makes it even more frustrating is the fact that the only reason he's injured is because his manager dozed off in the dugout and neglected to pinch run for him.
  3. My left nostril thinks those cards are pretty cool, but the rest of my body thinks that this mass production of ten-dollar baseball cards is a scam and I wish I had a cut of it.
  4. I definitely agree. If the 2015 season didn't leave you happy (after the dust had settled) then you're awfully hard to please. That wasn't a glass-half-full year, it was a glass-90-per-cent-full year. The only reason I didn't ever order that t-shirt is because I'm past the point in my life where I wear my Mets allegiance on my torso. Now it's limited to the top of my head, where a Mets cap is my standard headwear.
  5. Well, last night's game was surviving Matz's replacement by Ynoa. The Mets still have to survive today's replacement of Syndergaard by Gilmartin. By not pitching today, Noah is no longer aligned to start the Wednesday playoff game on regular rest, but I'm pretty sure that if he regains his health they'll find a way to get him to start that game. My guess is that he'll only have one remaining regular season start, but that might be sufficient.
  6. Friday, September 23 was officially a day of Triple Happiness, as the Mets won, Giants and Cardinals both lost.
  7. Padres still batting in the bottom of the first. Runner on first, nobody out... and three runs in!
  8. I am REALLY happy for Michael Conforto right now.

  10. They all walk around with vomit in their mouth?

  12. Ynoa out after two innings. Hopefully Verrett can give them five.
  13. Travis thumbs his nose at MFS62.
  14. Second inning isn't going well.
  15. My headline prediction: THOR THROAT
  16. We have a happy outcome in Chicago! Final score: Cubs 5, Cardinals 0.
  17. Cards coming up in the top of the 8th in Chicago, still trailing 5-0.
  18. Middle of the sixth at Wrigley. Cubs up 5-0 over the Cardinals.
  19. Galvis looks somewhat like a bobblehead.
  20. I found this in a Daily News article from June 27: If Jose Reyes’ return to the Mets is successful, the embattled infielder might just stick around for next season. The contract Reyes signed with the Mets includes a club option for 2017. When he’s added to the Mets’ 40-man roster, the Mets will be on the hook for just $507,500 in salary, the pro-rated league minimum. And this, from the same date, on NJ.com: If Jose Reyes is on his best behavior — on and off the field — he might stick with the Mets, and not just this season, but next year, too. Reyes' agent, Peter Greenberg of The Legacy Agency, told reporters that the minor-league deal the 33-year-old signed to return to Queens comes with some incentive: A team option for 2017 that must be picked up within five days after the World Series.
