  1. I like how the conversation was about Carlos Beltran... until it wasn't.
  2. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: This is "funny" but totally not funny. That the Mets just put any party-patrol dumbass in the clothing of its most recognizable branding icon is just unconscionably stupid and reckless. They cut every corner even on their own identity. I hate to say this but the Phillies would never do this. They had 1 Phanatic for years. That's a great point.
  3. Maybe in late July, but not now.
  4. The Mets have played three games that ended with a walk-off triple I'm surprised that it ever happens. You would have to have a runner on first, and the batter would have to reach third base before the runner scored, right?
  5. Edgy MD wrote: I didn't know there was a "Team Later." Do you get cool tee-shirts? Yes, but they're back-ordered.
  6. I'm on "Team Later". Unless it looks like he might legitimately be the difference between making and missing the playoffs in 2017, I'd rather wait until 2018 to promote him. If they wait until shortly after 2018 begins, the Mets will have control of Rosario through the 2024 season. I know that nobody cares about 2024 right now, but we will some day. (And I'd estimate that that day will come in late 2023.) I don't see him as an impact player for this year. So let's wait.
  7. Does anyone know who the 10,000 player was? And what's the starting point for this count? Does it go back to the 19th Century? Or does it just include the "modern era"?
  8. My guess is that Lugo won't make it more than two or three turns through the rotation. So Gsellman might as well stay stretched out.
  9. Jose Reyes may soon knock Ed Kranepool, who was in first place for what seemed like forever, into third place on the all-time hits list. 1. David Wright 1,777 2. Ed Kranepool 1,418 3. Jose Reyes 1,404
  10. Cast your vote!
  11. Don't forget Steve Carlton.
