  1. Cast your vote!
  2. I just realized that, before the start of yesterday's action, the Mets had a 7.5 game lead over the Phillies with 17 games remaining.
  3. Hey! I know that song! Not that version, of course, (because I'm musically challenged) but I know that song!
  4. You're asking if players could decline to work with Barwis? I would imagine that they can.
  5. Whät's wïth thë döts övër thë vöwëls? Ïs thïs sömë nëw ëdïct fröm thë bïg shöts ïn Stöckhölm?
  6. I agree, but I think they'll have a 13-man staff. But if they do go with 12, then yes, there will be six infielders, which makes the Two Veteran scenario much more possible.
  7. I don't know. I figure they'll go north with five infielders on their roster. If Reyes and Cabrera are two of them, then that only leaves room for three others. As things stand now, but of course can change, that would probably be Rosario, Flores, and Smith. That means at least one of the two veterans would be counted on to be a regular starter.
  8. Jay has hit five homers since he's been with Cleveland, giving him a current season total of 34, which matches his career high set in 2012 with the Reds. For a while it looked like he might make a run at 40 home runs, but with 16 games remaining he'll have to pick up the pace by quite a bit in order to get there.
  9. You forgot Ron Darling!
  10. I voted Cabrera, but I could easily have voted Reyes. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Maybe both will return, although I doubt it. It's probably more likely that we'll see neither than that we'll see both.
  11. My hunch right now is that either Cabrera or Reyes will return next year, but that it's unlikely that both will. I think Cabrera is more likely.
  12. . Mets sticking with strength coach despite slew of injuries
  13. I don't think I've ever seen that happen before... The runner thrown out on the bases before the lead runner touches the plate.
