What happened was, after a recent September callup, I had accidentally activated the wrong minor leaguer. I thought I had fully fixed my mistake, but I guess I missed a step. Nick Carr no longer appears on that page.
  2. The deal was announced on November 30, 2012. But I'm not seeing any threads that were opened around that date that look like the "big discussion" that we undoubtedly had. Maybe there had already been a long-running thread that had been opened months before?
  3. I hope Moose isn't waiting by the phone for a call from Sandy Alderson. My guess is that the Mets will in fact go with a guy who has big-league managing experience, or at least AAA experience, but in the unlikely event that they don't, I have a hunch that Michael Cuddyer might be in the mix.
  4. When it first came out, I was "meh" (to use a stupid word that didn't exist then). I was 14 and it didn't really capture my imagination. (Neither did Star Wars, for that matter.) The second time I saw it was decades later, and probably due in large part to reduced expectations, I liked it a little bit more. But I still mostly found it unsatisfying.
  5. Did anyone else notice Gary referring to Dom Smith as "Lucas" when he doubled in the seventh?
  6. 2017 is a lot like 1977 isn't it? Long-time players leaving, a very different team in September than in April, and many more losses than we had anticipated. I certainly hope 2018 and 2019 turn out better than 1978 and 1979 did.
  7. At first glance, I misread that 28 and thought that Taijeron was playing second base.
  8. Yeah, that's kind of why I was asking about WPIX. I could see the Mets being a blacked out team if there was a cable provider in cooby's area that carried the WPIX signal, even if SNY was totally unavailable. And maybe that's the case. It's a shame, though. As a fan of an out-of-town team, I'm glad that I haven't been affected by that, even though I live closer to New York than cooby does, and maybe closer than Fman too.

That's the part that makes no sense at all. If cooby were able to get Mets games on her MLB.tv package, she might decide to subscribe. MLB would benefit, and I don't see how any party would lose out.

  12. Does your local cable provider carry WPIX? (I would doubt it, but maybe?) I can understand why you'd be blacked out in an area that carries SNY or WPIX, but it doesn't make sense anywhere else. If I lived where you live, it would be the difference between me subscribing to MLB.tv and not subscribing. This policy costs them customers and, as far as I can tell, doesn't gain them anything.
  13.
