  1. No, not a perfect game. There was a walk to Cespedes.
  2. He's actually raising his ERA so far, isn't he?
  3. They have to be aware that if they let Jacob make his next start, and as a result he makes the injury worse and it's his last start of the season, they'll face a shitstorm like few they've ever seen before. Now, I know that these likely aren't the same people who kept putting Ryan Church on plane after plane after he suffered a concussion, but I also can't help but think about that. I'm not convinced that the Mets don't know what they're doing, nor am I confident that they do.
  4. His next start? Wow. Even if he seems ready, I think I'd have him skip at least one start just for the sake of extra caution.
  5. Voting for all remaining games played in April will close one week from today, on Thursday, May 10. If you're on the list below with an 9 next to your name, you're all caught up on the games that are about to close. If not, and if you're so inclined, please try to get your votes in over the next week. G-Fafif 9 Kongsuds 9 Benjamin Grimm 9 Ashie62 9 Vic Sage 9 Methead 8 Lunch 7 TransMonk 4 Centerfield 1
  6. Cast your vote!
  7. 1985 Defeated the 1994 cover in Round 1.12 2011 Defeated the 1969 cover in Round 1.18
  8. Hopefully Vargas reduces his ERA a little bit.
  9. Oops! I watched parts of the game yesterday but must have missed the part when they discussed that. Or else I wasn't listening too closely. I do like Gary, Keith, and Ron but a lot of times I find that I'm tuning them out.
  10. Any relation? Ronald Acuna, Mets minor leaguer
  11. The Mets may not have a hundred years of history, but they do have almost sixty years of history. Their museum should have a serious curator who does whatever things a museum curator is supposed to do. Now, I don't know for a fact that they don't have such a person, but there really hasn't been anything to indicate that they do.
  12. Wow. 2002 has a much more sleazy back story than 1977 has.
  13. 1977 Original Edition Defeated the 2003 cover in Round 1.10 2002 Defeated the 1977 Revised Edition cover in Round 1.03
  14. Would that be a problem? He has two thumbs, so the left one is redundant.
  15. Centerfield wrote: *I don't get the feeling Matt Harvey is trying his hardest. If that's true, imagine the effort he'll put in next season, when he's not in his free agent walk year.
  16. I was thinking the same thing.
  17. It's also possible that both accounts can be true. As I understand how this works, someone can be sober at one point and then, later, be drunk.
  18. Oh sure, blame the android.
  19. Maybe he was sober but decided to stagger anyway.
  20. They don't have nightclubs in San Diego?
  21. G-Fafif wrote: Baby Met finished 60 1/2 games out of first place That extra half game in the standings always seemed particularly gratuitous to me. Baby Met romped to a 21-0 victory in the first round, but is facing a little bit of opposition this time.
  22. When the Mets were in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago I was getting the sense that Ozzie Albies might turn out to be a long-term nuisance to the Mets.
  23. This is the first poll of our second round, in which our Sweet Sixteen will be determined. In case you missed it in the YCD parent thread, here's the bracket as of the end of Round One. Second-round voting will proceed in normal order, so tomorrow will be 1977 vs. 2002, then 2011 vs. 1985, then 1970 vs. 1984, and so on.
