I think David Cone once emerged from the bullpen with sticky hands, if I recall correctly.

Include "nose" and you'll be jabbing for the cycle.

I seem to recall a Mets player a few years ago who had an initial negative x-ray, but then when the swelling went down, subsequent imaging revealed a break.

I would be surprised if Buck is on the hot seat. I think many people are assuming that Steve Cohen is the second coming of George Steinbrenner. Maybe he is, but I'm not so sure.

Ken Rosenthal has an article for The Athletic, titled "Rosenthal: If Mets' don't end spiral, would anyone be surprised to see Steve Cohen make changes?" I wanted to see what moves he saw Cohen potentially making, and other than firing Buck Showalter, he didn't say anything at all.

Any updates on Pete's availability? I'm hoping to hear that the swelling has gone down and he's only sitting as a precaution.

Russo has always been an idiot. Sure, he's worked up over this, but it's his schtick. It really doesn't matter what team Cohen rooted for as a kid. A few years ago, Francisco Lindor rooted for Cleveland and as recently as last year Justin Verlander favored the Astros.

I'm sorry, but anyone who says "in Long Island" automatically loses some credibility.

Well, they don't have to finish in first place. Or even in second place. With the expanded playoff field, one hot month can change their fortunes dramatically. And they appear to have the talent to have a hot month.

It doesn't have the same blood supply; (it is) not as durable.”
