  1. I should've gone with Conine for Royals/Marlins; I considered him, but went with Cliff Floyd instead.
  2. Got an eight today. (I get a lot of eights.) Missed on Marlins/Royals.

In order to provide the most reliable and supported experience for our users as we expand to multiple sports, this time change will allow the Sports Reference team more flexibility to respond to issues and feedback in a timely manner. It also allows us to stop pulling all nighters

  5. I suspect that any deal they make would likely be veterans for youth. Get the best young players they can for Robertson and Canha and Pham (if he's looking healthy enough). I've seen speculation that Carrasco would also have trade value, but that seems less likely.

Voting for all games played through July 20, the home series against the White Sox, will close on Tuesday, August 1. If you haven't yet voted for any of these games and plan to do so, please get your votes in some time over the next seven days.
  7. I got everything except the center square. I thought Cecil Cooper was a Brewer/Phillie.

  13. I'd adopt him, but I don't need the responsibility! This Mets prospect leads the Minors in ERA

I was surprised that he and Willie Mays were the only New York Giants to have also played for the Mets, compared to nine Brooklyn Dodgers. Clearly two of those facts you sussed out when you wrote "I Wonder about Eddie B." Thanks for still remembering that, eighteen years later!

  16. Surely there must be some players who had hits at Shea, Citi Field, and the last two Yankee Stadiums?
  17. Once again, the dreaded TB logo. At first, I was confused and found myself trying to think of Blue Jays and A's players who had had tuberculosis. The app was a little glitchy today. I got credit for Victor Zambrano as a Ray and a Jay (but you doesn't has to call him Johnson) but instead of seeing his name and a photo, I just got a green box with a little 0.1% in the upper right corner. I had tried guessing Rico Carty for Twins/A's (which would have been wrong, by the way) but his name wasn't available in the lookup list. I thought I had awoken in an alternate universe in which there was never a Rico Carty, a world in which grapefruits taste sweet and penguins can fly. Anyway, seven of nine for me today: Rays/Jays: Victor Zambrano 0.1% Rays/A's: -- Rays/All-Star: Evan Longoria 25% Twins/Jays: Jack Morris 6% Twins/A's: -- Twins/All-Star: Rod Carew 3% 100RBI/Jays: Carlos Delgado 11% 100RBI/A's: Reggie Jackson 8% 100RBI/All-Star: Darryl Strawberry 0.2% (one of 482 valid answers; this would be a hard one to miss)
  18. He had been the third oldest living Met. Now, with his death, Jimmie Schaffer moves into the Top Ten, Bobby Klaus into the Top Twenty, and Bill Wakefield into the Top Forty. I was surprised that he and Willie Mays were the only New York Giants to have also played for the Mets, compared to nine Brooklyn Dodgers.
  19. This reminds me of Carlos Beltran and his promise to Jon Niese's nose.
  20. Maybe, in 2021, he lost the ability to hit in odd-numbered years. This is known, clinically, as "Reverse Howard Johnson Syndrome".
  21. If they traded him right now, they'd be selling low. He does have a friendly contract, but only if he's playing like he did in 2022.
  22. Still looking for my fifth immaculate. I got seven today: Yankees/Phillies: Todd Zeile 0.2% Yankees/Brewers: CC Sabathia 42% Yankees/Silver Slugger: Derek Jeter 12% Mariners/Phillies: -- Mariners/Brewers: -- Mariners/Silver Slugger: Alex Rodriguez 8% Marlins/Phillies: JT Realmuto 39% Marlins/Brewers: Christian Yelich 58% Marlins/Silver Slugger: Giancarlo Stanton 48%
