  3. I was the same way. Got eight very easily, but couldn't get the Astro/Cub. I ended up making a wrong guess. When I then peeked at the answers, nobody jumped out at me as someone I should have thought of. 11. Who exactly is obsessed with whom around here?
  12. Not many good options, are there? I hope Justin Jarvis is ready for a shot.
  13. Is it possible for Señor Wences to throw a pitch without getting saliva on it? This could be problematic.

  15. Quintana. Senga. Carrasco. Who else? Peterson? Lucchesi? Butto? I have no idea. Does Tylor Megill even exist anymore? Did he ever? I'm very confused.
  16. It's like 1977 in the sense that a set of deadline deals suddenly changed the complexion of the team. But emotionally, it's entirely different.

  18. Today has a Mets late 70's feel I was thinking the same thing. I remember on June 16, 1977 thinking, "Okay, who are the Mets now?"
  19. I think we had seen (incorrect) reports stating that the Mets would be off the hook for the money they sent the Rangers when they dealt Scherzer.
  20. I don't understand the argument for trading Quintana.
  21. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: I kinda thought JV would be the ace of the 2024 team and one less thing to worry about. Yeah, me too. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Now we've cleared the decks and Quintana is our ace Quintana and Senga and pray for rain, I suppose. Maybe Jarvis will be in the mix next year. And Peterson and Megill. That's really not likely to be enough.
  22. Mark Feinsand wrote: The Mets will receive OF Drew Gilbert from the Astros in the deal for Verlander, per source, plus at least one other propsect. It's not known how much money the Mets will send to Houston.
