  1. Maybe two worlds championships from now, plus one Opening Day, the Mets will do the same for Timo Perez and Armando Benitez.
  2. Very good! Thank you! (It turns out that the information was in the UMDB, on Cipot's memory page, but I never would have thought to look there.)

  5. I received this e-mail yesterday: ]Maybe you can help me with a weird question. Apparently, there was a Mets player or prospect in the late '70s-early '80s who ended up becoming a Catholic priest. And i'm trying to figure out who it was. Only thing i have to go on was that in the video feature i saw (where he was shown but not named), they showed a (supposedly major league) Mets team picture and he was wearing #45...but couldn't find any likely candidates in the database. Do you have any clue who i'm talking about? This vaguely rings a bell, but I can't think of who it might be. Anyone know?
  6. She plays "Marge." I've seen eight or nine of the episodes, and I'm not sure who "Marge" is, so it's not a prominent role. (She didn't look familiar on her IMDB page, but maybe I'd recognize her in character, with the 1960's hairdo and makeup.) She wasn't prominent enough to make this page, and sadly, her Wikipedia entry is being considered for deletion. Hopefully her career will continue to progress. How do you know her?
  7. Oh! Her! She's VERY good!
  8. I was at the game at Citizens Bank Park that started this Phillie losing streak. It was the final game of a four-game series, and the Mets had won the first three. It was the game where Julio Franco didn't run out a ground ball.

  10. Frayed Knot wrote: Tiggers = 0-7 after loss in Boston Hey, Michigan! How panicky are they in Detroit? I can only imagine the angst there would be around here if the Mets were 0-7.

  12. Yes, Minaya definitely hired Randolph.
  13. Box score Perez 3.5 Smith 0.5 Muniz 0.5 Delgado 0.5 Beltran 0.5

  15. I picked the wrong afternoon to stop sniffing glue.
  16. If the Mets win this game, it will be a nice rousing victory. If they lose, it's going to be a big stink hovering over their heads. Everyone will be convinced that the Phillies have them spooked. This probably won't be such a happy Seventh Inning Stretch here.
  17. And a single brings the go-ahead run home.
  18. I'm getting September flashbacks. A double play grounder turns into a hit runner and two runs coming home.
  19. I think I heard that Sosa is throwing.

  21. Despite the walk, I have some Schaefer reserved (at this point, anyway) for Joe Smith.
  22. Nope. Instead we get a balk and a wild pitch.
  23. Oh Jeez. Peterson to the mound. I smell a home run...
  24. SteveJRogers wrote: 4 years of this huh? 4 years of cranky knees and infield power! No. If he can't play, they'll eat the contract. Don't worry about the four years. Meanwhile, Perez pitches out of his jam and, I imagine, has taken a nice happy leap over the foul line.
  25. Perez gets a grounder to Wright, but Rollins gets to first before the DP can be completed. Two out, two on. Victorino batting.
