    When can Senga be activated? I wonder if he can be an opener for the third game in Atlanta? And yeah, Megill going twice against the Phillies and once against the Braves isn't really ideal.

    You're right; I really meant giving up on Baty for 2024. Although I wouldn't have been too disappointed if he had gone in a deadline deal as part of an important upgrade.

    I recall preferring Vientos to Baty, but I didn't think the difference would be as dramatic as it has been. I think it was more that I was giving up on Baty than going all in on Vientos.

    And if they can keep up that pace the rest of the way, they'll finish with 89 wins, which has a pretty good chance, I think, of getting them into the postseason.

    The Mets have the tie-breaker advantage over the Padres and Diamondbacks, which could come in handy. They're currently 5-5 against the Braves with a three-game series coming up. Taking two of those three games could prove critical. The games will be in Atlanta, beginning September 24. I can't help but think of late September/early October 2022, when the Mets only had to take one of three to get that same advantage but couldn't.

    As I said in the other thread, I'm rooting for the Sox to go no better than 39-123. I want them to have more losses than the 1962 Mets and fewer wins.

    They need to go above .500 over their last 23 games in order to avoid 120 losses. I want them to go no better than 39-123. Not only do I want them to lose more games than the 1962 Mets, I also want them to have fewer wins.
