Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 It just wouldn't be a Yanqui game without a swinging bunt, then a bloop, followed by a 3R 315 ft HR - all with 2 outs.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 I missed the HR, saying good night to the kids, came back downstairs, saw the score, and put on the MNF game. I'll switch back if the 'Stros show any signs of life.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 I'm so sick of teams clobbering their opponents and then rolling over and playing dead once they arrive at Yankee Stadium.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 These things happen there, they can happen for the 'stros too.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 What team is Maybin on? See the ball, catch the ball.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 We've seen Morton in the NL.He's the kind of third or fourth starter with no one outstanding pitch that the MFYs eat alive, especially in that band box. This isn't surprising to me.Later
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 They need to knock Sabathia out and at least make the Yankees pen do some work before game 4.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 Morton has had a promising but injury plagued career prior to this year but has been a different pitcher this season since being healthy. Also, prior to that Judge HR (which wasn't Morton anyway) the six MFY hits consisted of a bunt single, a swinging bunt single, another infield single, a bloop single, that fly ball which Maybin decidedhe was afraid of for some reason, and a 315 ft YSIII special. It's not like he was getting hit hard. Not that the Astros can complain as they haven't hit shit all series.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 Grand slam Judge. -- 2 on actuallyAL MVP -- notes are already in so this one won't help him. Besides, if the post-season counted he definitely wouldn't win it.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 (edited) Gary Sanchez and Evan Gattis both have the body mass to make for pretty good pair of bar bouncers*. But unfortunately the two of them are catchers for a living and neither one is exactly putting on a catching clinic here tonight. It's like you got 500 pounds of bears back there wearing oven mitts and batting around play toys.* I think Gattis actually was one at one point Edited October 17, 2017 by Guest
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 I see I missed some additional suck.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 Yeah, I'll put 5 Crane bucks on Altuve - based mainly on him not having a big eight-week long doughnut in the middle of his season. Those guys will probably be 1-2 in either order on account of Troutmissing too much time with the thumb injury, but it should be close either way.My only point was that Judge's 3R HR tonight wouldn't help him and if post-season was counted the race would tilt even further in the little guy's favor.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 Astro fans are no doubt thinking back to Memorial Day this year when they were down 8-2 to the Twins before putting up 11 runs in the 8th then 3 more in the 9th to win 16-8Unfortunately, this isn't May and these ain't the Twins.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Let's go, 'Stros. You can't keep a Springer down!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 OK, maybe not, but Bregman brings one home.Hey, maybe this comes down to a pinch-hitting Beltran.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Altuve should win MVP, but with the bias towards the Yankees, I'd put money on Judge.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 Lance McCullers Jr. vs Sonny Gray at 5:00 this afternoon.I had a bad feeling going into last night's game and unless Houston bats show up finally -- 5 runs on 15 hits thru 3 games -- I'm going to have a bad one about this whole series.Gray can be tough to hit but also wild. Problem is that I don't have a lot of faith in the aggressive Houston hitters to lay off pitches out of the zone.McCullers had a shaky and injury-interrupted second half.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Thanks, forgot this was an early start.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 I have a bad feeling about this.
