Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Kinda big game today. Harvster making his comeback. Had a decent outing last time. Didn't have great stuff but battled through. Will be interesting if he can take another step forward today. Also, let's score some runs.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Throw seven and get a bunt down, Harvey!

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Bet you didn't see that Reynolds-at-first maneuver coming, Joe Maddon!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 These blue tops make the Mets look like Cubs in the park where they shouldn't.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 But if Reyes hits like Rizzo, then that's OK.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 And Harvey opens with a bases-loaded-no-out situation.Good a time as any for an around-the-horn triple play.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 I don't think I've ever seen that happen before... The runner thrown out on the bases before the lead runner touches the plate.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Piss poor baserunning by the Cubs helping to compensate for piss poor Matt Harvey pitching.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Harvey's insignia is a darker gray than usual. And he egg-zits after 3 1/3. Poor Hansel has to come on with the bags juiced.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Rubbles wild, and kinda chubby.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Darling's New York accent still sounds more Bostonian.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Robles w/bases loaded in 2017: 14 PA, 3-for-9 + 5 BBs, 1 HR, 3 K, 13 Runs
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 It's another night that the Mets are within striking distance in a game that, in a just world, they would be trailing by 10 or more.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 And here we are: Juanito is the tying run at the plate.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 If you tag a sliding Javier Baez on his hair extensions does that count? I assume it does.I'd like to see him get burned on that play some time.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 I keep checking in on this one between other e-errands, and it keeps getting more pointless and depressing the later I check. You know when you drill down into a conch shell, and you keep seeing the same Fibonnacci spiral up in there, smaller and smaller? It's not quite as fun when you get that sort of thing in a baseball season.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 We load bases in top 7 w/2 outs and strike outThey get two on w/2 out and hit 3R HRsI mean, yeah we're getting our asses kicked here, but alter just a handful of ABs and ...

It's not quite as fun when you get that sort of thing in a baseball season. That's it exactly. I can't even time my tune-ins to the good stuff: I watched maybe a total of 90 seconds of the last 90 minutes and all I saw was Robles un-load the bases and the 3-run home off McGowan. I missed however the Mets added 2 runs last inning.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Dom Smith home run, so there's that.Jacob Rhame's and Callahan's straight-ass fastballs? Not quite as eye-pleasing. The Cubs might disagree.
