Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Those guysAndrew Stevenson - RF Who? -- 25 y/o BL/TL 2nd round draft pick in 2015 out of LSU. 39 ML ABs so farAdrian Sanchez - 3B Who? -- 27 y/o Venezuelan rookie. 43 ML ABs so far.Daniel Murphy - 2B -- Him we've met.Adam Lind - 1B -- Backs up ZimmermanWilmer Difo - SS -- Got ML cups-a-coffee in 2015 & '16. Injuries to others have awarded him with some 250 ABs this year.Michael A. Taylor - CF -- Not sure why he insists that the A. be in there all the timeAlejandro De Aza - LF -- Yeah, that one.Jose Lobaton - C -- Weiters' backupAJ Cole - P -- The Nats drafted him (4th round) in 2010, then they traded him away (for Gio Gonzalez) in 2011, then they got him back a year later. This will be his 5th ML start this year. All those Cole trades involved Oakland of course as those teams are contractually required to make at least three deals per season that tilt in Washington's favor.Zimmerman, Rendon, & Weiters are not, to my knowledge anyway, injured at this point. Probably just getting a deGrom day off so they can feast on the low hanging fruit during the remainder of the series.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 How many outfielders do we have?

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Wilmer Flores, Matt Reynolds, Jacob deGrom.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 I'm not sure what to make of these uniform jerseys. But for the record, I don't like 'em. Should have kept the sleeves blue IMO.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 So I hear Cespedes limped out of the game. Any details?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Don't know, but Reynolds is leftfielding now.deGrom leads the bigs in pitcher hits with 14. Jhoulys Chacín has 12.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Watching on MLBtv. I'm still in the first inning, dArnaud up, bases loaded. So I think I'm a bit behind tonight. I probably should switch to the radio feed.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 I do dig the names on the back of the jerseys. deGrom's says "Jake". Those orange caps tho.....anyone have an extra pair of eclipse glasses?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Good call at first as deGrom beats out an infield single.A good call at 1st by an ump!*grabs chest
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 LOL Nats in those clown suits. Mets are styling, though!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 I get the idea that they're all going deer hunting after the game.Ashie62 wrote:Wilmer Flores, Matt Reynolds, Jacob deGrom. What is a utility guy, a futility guy, and a capability guy?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 I haven't seen that shoulder patch up close yet, but from a distance it looks like a baseball version of the Evolution Progression - y'know, where the monkey marches towards being a man.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Now Cespedes is down? Leg issue. Maybe when he stretched the other day and slid to catch a ball in LF.I have never seen anyhting like this in my entire life.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Céspedes has had tight and tender legs pretty much as long as he's been a Met. Blame his bodybuilding or blame the golf or blame the outfield or blame the cruelty of the fates, but it's something we ought to be used to by now. I see him kick it to full speed, I'm more surprised when he doesn't come up hobbled.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Whoa, I really dig Rosario's blue & orange bat!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 deGrom needs runs.deGrom deserves runs.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Alright, leadoff Lagares double in the eighth. Let's plate that man.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Matt Reynolds, your new cleanup hitter, plates the run!

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Nice to see the boys who are fighting for jobs coming through. That was a bit of a gutsy send by Sherlock as Taylor fielded that single very shallow. Plus Juan looked like he expected to be held and had to re-ignite his motors.
