Yesterday, the Phils hung tight to the very end despite the opposition staff ace throwing his best stuff. Their young starter eluded the worst after getting into early trouble and did yeoman's work turning his day around and keeping his team in the game. Two of their rookies had their first career hits.

That was way too many moral victories for the Mets to allow a team to sleep on. They need to open up the throttle a little on these Phils. Also, are Duda and Conforto on this team or not?

The Cardinals and Braves sit a game ahead, and suddenly, the Cubs only a game and a half.

I somehow missed this being a 4 PM start, and just sat around Skyzone for an hour, reading my book, while my son bounced, and then we ate, me clueless all the while, and I put the game on XM right around 6:50 thinking we'd get pre game and holy shit! It was the 7th inning. So we got to hear Josh and Howie's call of Cabrera's big bomb, which worked out perfectly.
