Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Are you able to find out anything more about his lesbian friend Daisy?
dgwphotography Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 I thought it was amazing. Definitely the best of the recent DC movies.
RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 Great film that deserves to be on the Mount Rushmore of comic superhero movies with the Christopher Reeve Superman, the Tim Burton Batman and The Dark Knight. The final confrontation was the usual dull CGI fight, though it worked better because it had some ideas behind it. And the No Man's Land scene reached the level of cinema classic.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 The obligatory fight scene is the soft underbelly of these superhero movies. Some are better than others, but in just about every case they leave my mind wandering. Two examples of bad fight scenes that immediately come to mind are the 2008 Hulk movie and Iron Man 3. But there are many others.
Guest cooby Guests Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Seriously? That get up has nipple pouches?

Guest cooby Guests Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Well I made that up since I doubt it's ever been said before
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 even her nipples are powerful. they require industrial-strength pouches.

dgwphotography Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 George Clooney wonders what the big deal is with nipple pouches....
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Joel Schumacher has recently openly apologized for Batman Forever, including the nipple pouches. Yeah, it stunk, but I didn't find it particularly worse than the other three movies from that serial.

The only thing I could say to him was, "I'm sorry"BTW, I don't think Wonder Woman has nipple pouches. I think that's just a reflection in that particular shot.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Here's another image of her in costume. It doesn't look like there are any nipple bumps.
Guest cooby Guests Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Isn't it odd that we all focused on that though?Well maybe not for you guys
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2017 Author Posted June 21, 2017 That picture of Gal Gadot is even more stunning than the first. And the first was pretty stunning.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I don't have an inability. I have a different opinion. I have a tremendous ability.Enjoy the lovefest. I'm not the sole dissenter. Not if you look around a little.

I wonder if I watched the third one.I liked Batman '89 a lot. Batman Returns was a big step back, but still better than Batman Forever. At least BR had Michelle Pfeiffer.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2017 Author Posted June 23, 2017 I feel like I should disclose that I'm mainly participating in this discussion so I can come back and look at the GG picture again.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 The fourth film was Batman & Robin, and that was actually the one Joel Schumacher apologized for.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 I'm pretty sure I only saw the first two of those movies, Batman and Batman Returns, and I hated them both. I have not seen Batman Forever or Batman & Robin.I did like the series of Batman films with Christian Bale, especially the second one.Oops, we've advanced to another page! We need more photos. It appears that it's not just the costume that makes Gal Gadot look so good:
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 I saw the one with Danny Devito and the one with Arnold Schwarzenegger and thought they were both terrible.Ahhhhh, Gal.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 I don't know how you folks keep all those flicks straight.I've probably seen less than a dozen films from Vic's list of 105 on Page 1 of this thread but I'm not even sure which ones as even those few start to blend together in my mind.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted June 27, 2017 Posted June 27, 2017 Finally saw it. The first 2/3 or so were great (if not flawless-- see: the nettlesome accent/language thing, the character implications of her more or less drops mourning her aunt/mentor after a day or two to flirt with Steve Trevor, etc.). Then it REALLY slows down into a slog during the Zach Snyder-y homestretch. Thewlis-- whom I like in most stuff, and LOVE as a scenery-chewing baddie in Fargo, is a weird choice for Ares. He's both miscast AND underused, if that's at all possible. The action climax is the usual CGI mess, if not more so than the usual. And I'm not even going to touch the liberal use of token cartoon ethnic stereotypes (Amazon mammy and animal-fighter? Goddamn CHIEF?) and male-sidekick spotlighting (Lois Lane didn't get ANYTHING like the screentime Trevor gets) in the movie-that's-different-than-them-all. (If it seems like I'm crucifying Patty Jenkins and the producers for this... I'm not. But if we're going to call a movie exceptional, it better damn well be exceptional.)Gal Gadot's charm, the Amazons, the nicely-sketched relationship between WW and Trevor, the sense of humor, and "No Man's Land" mark it as better than a lot of its peers. But this film is a beginning step to the mountaintop, not the pinnacle. That's it's being mistaken for the latter is more of an indicator of how long a journey it'll be, yet.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Pretty much agree with LWFS. It was good for a movie of that sort. That ridiculous fight scene at the end wrecked the last part of it. I did appreciate the lack of voiceover recurring wisdom of the elders reminding us of stuff we saw earlier in the movie - but I feel they'll stick that in the sequel(s).
Guest cooby Guests Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 My granddaughter informs me that when she grows up, she is going to be WonderWoman and have 10 kids. Her mom will be responsible for watching them while she is out fighting bad people.I stole a look at her mom (my daughter) during this conversation and I could see that "grandma" was less than happy at this prospect, although she is now a 5th grade teacher and probably watches 20-25 kids a day as it is.I'll bet there are a few more little girls on this forum with similar dreams....
