Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Wonder what Harv's doing... watching, sleeping, jello shots?
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 The Johnny Manziel career model is not one to aspire to.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 And he's not even pitching well enough to be traded.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 He should file a grievance against the effect of hangovers.Migraines my azz.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I don't see this ending well for anyone. The Mets have to know that too so there's likely a whole lot of shit under the bridge already.I hate to pat my intuition on the back but as I've been saying for five years Harvey was and is, a complete douchebag.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 The Oakland A's have been bringing in douchebags for a generation.

Festering wounds lead to spreading infections.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Buster Olney wrote:Harvey’s time with the Mets could be nearing an end. If they continue to be crushed by injuries, this season of promise could be turned into a rebuilding situation, and it might make sense for them to dangle Harvey on the trade market and move him, even if they feel they’re getting less than equal value. They’ve seen him at his best and they know firsthand about his worst, and it may be time for the Mets and Harvey to go their separate ways in a professional divorce. They know he’ll probably move on through free agency anyway.Harvey’s days as the toast of New York are part of the past. But the more pertinent question about Harvey is his own investment in himself. He is 28 years old, and it’s up to Harvey whether he’ll be able to look back at his suspension as a turning point. If it isn’t, his time as a major league pitcher could end a lot sooner than he realizes, and in the decades ahead, he’ll be remembered as a trivia question: Who was that guy they called the Dark Knight?
Guest cooby Guests Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I hope he's an ex Met. I prefer to like my team
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 What a shit show , I am for moving him too, and yes Wide Bee Gee never did care for Harvey.Olney makes some interesting observations, I think we may indeed have seen the best of Harvey ( who is Olney writing for now?)
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Olney is apparently one of the ESPN survivors.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 I'm all for moving Harvey, but for a team that claims to be contending how do you tell the fans "we're going to take a loss today and send Adam Wilk out there"?i would have suspended him the 4 games between starts - the team loses nothing and he loses salary and the embarrassment, if any, of getting suspended.
Batty31 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 I never cared from Harvey from day one. Oozes with arrogance. He's all about himself and not the team and more concerned with his um extracurricular activities. I tend to skip watching games he's pitching and tune in when the bullpen takes over. I really hope he gets and hope it gets done quickly.

And 100% of everybody would see that. "We're pissed at you. Now go out there and pitch to win, and clean out your locker afterwards." That's not going to fly.Team sport, man.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Fuckin' hell, all this.If Collins ignores us chanting and pulls Harvey for the ninth inning of Game 5 two years ago, NONE OF THIS HAPPENS.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Joe McDonald is claiming scoop in reporting that Harvey was suspended for "chronic lateness issues."

Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Really getting to the end of my string with Harvey. I think he'll be gone this offseason and I won't miss him.Did we ever identify who the sex toy product placement person was?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 "Oh, yeah? Well, now you're SUSPENDED from that game you blew off, Batman."Trade him now, and it's pennies on the dollar. You'd like at LEAST nickels-and-dimes for the guy.
Guest 41Forever Guests Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Maybe this is the wake-up call that Harvey, and maybe the team, needs. I'd put this in the same category of Gil Hodges slowly walking out to left field and walking back with Cleon Jones.Message delivered.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Maybe, if Gil J.C. Martin had a great big dildo next to him. And Cleon was wearing a Rangers jersey and hangover sunglasses.LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote:"Oh, yeah? You'd like at LEAST nickels-and-dimes for the guy.Well, the suspension comes in with a concomitant pay cut. That hurts even if the three day vacation doesn't, and thus, the grievance.Trying to guess how much of yesterday's fiasco was demoralization. It would have been nice for a few of the batsmen to turn to each other and say, "This Wilk guy has been thrown in the deep end. Let's get together and bail him out."
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Paul LoDuca says it's not what people think, the world can now start spinningagain... Paul has tweeted. That is all. Thank you.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2017 Author Posted May 8, 2017 Yeah THAT was the weird part of this whole story to me: when exactly did Paul Freakin' LoDuca get to pose as the consummate insider?I mean, aside for when the topic involves horses or teenage girls.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 I'm curious what "rumors" Pony Paulie is talking about? Any and all speculation I've seen is what we have here—either that he was the clubhouse prankster or (apparently correct) that his party boy lifestyle was interfering with his obligations to the team. Has Paulie been reading some real dirt? Because in my mind, his tweet opened more doors than it shut.
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Give him the Yasiel Puig treatment and send him down for a dose of humility. Not Vegas mind you, Bingy.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Not that they have to but I'd trade his fat white ass tomorrow if it brought me a decent starting pitching prospect and some help at third base. What the Mets get is the benefit of not losing him eventually, and for already having gotten his best at a good price. It's true his stock is way down but you have to wonder at this point, how much more is to be achieved as a Met? 2013 is not coming back.I also root that he's traded someplace like San Diego or Minnesota. Or maybe to the Rockies LOLOLOLLL
