Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Or not tune out again, which is the plan.Interesting that Wright is hanging out with the starting pitchers again.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 It's a good thing we've kept Freddie pretty much down in this series cuz Kemp is kicking our butts (4 2Bs + 2 HR)He was looking like he was headed for the skids out west there but now seems reborn with the Braves.Still a small sample size but he's hitting around .290 with 14 HRs plus 19 2Bs in <250 ABs for the Braves since being traded there last July.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Reyes gets a single, details at eleven...
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Cabrera almost seemed to be aiming that ball to left, like Tony Gwynn or Ichiro Suzuki.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2017 Author Posted April 7, 2017 Very satisfying game. WTG Matt.

WTG Matt.Getting Brandon Phillips out is a nice change.Maybe instead of Kelly Johnson, the Braves trade Brandon Phillips to the Mets this summer. He's clearly a placeholder there.(Not that the Mets need another infielder.)
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Geeeez, they haven't hit a ball hard all inning and they get the tying run to the plate!!!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 (edited) Nice inning by Salas even if the line score isn't going to look so pretty - and a big strikeout of the kid when things got hairy. Now the only problem is that all those runners turned the lineup over and so whoever gets the 9th gets the meat of the Braves order. Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Talking golf in a baseball booth is for Phil Rizzuto, guys.Think we're going to see the debut episode of Addison Reed, Mets Closer with a four-run lead?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Here comes Kemp again. I feel like Atlanta should try to assemble a whole team of black ballplayers like Kemp.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 He's like Babe Ruth against lefties, I tell ya, this Wilmer.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 And the Nats, in the closing game of their home series with the Marlins which was (at least) twice delayed by weather, give up two in the 8th to tie the game, one more in the 9th to re-tie it, then another in the 10th to lose and prevent a sweep. The Nats' pen-in-progress had done well when needed in Games 1 & 2, but this afternoon/evening experienced serial failures by Kelley, Solis, erstwhile closer Treinan, and newcomer Blanton. So, y'know, tied for 1st place and all.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 A very encouraging start from Harvey. He looked confident and was fairly consistent.I'm looking for Wheeler to continue the string of good starts on Friday!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 So what was that SW sign that Kemp hit with his second blast? Does he win a sweater? Some Southwest Airlines tickets?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 And their theory is that 'SW24' is so well known that all you have to do is let people see the logo and they'll say; "Oh yeah, that security outfit ... thanks for the reminder, I'll give them a call tomorrow" ???

When you're looking for security you've got fond home run memories of it that you can't quite place but feel good about.
