Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 There are so many things wrong with the Sultan Of Swaat cover, yet I still went with it. The Royal game was really important but it gets kinds stuffed under the rug. I mean Thor, 8 innings, 2 kaBOOMs, in Hollywood.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2017 Author Posted January 6, 2017 I voted for SIGH OF RELIEF. It's a rather ordinary cover, but SULTAN OF SWAAT is too cluttered. I don't like when the headline obscures the player as it does in this cover.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 You get a shiver in the dark, it's raining in the park but meantime......Swaat.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Initial objection that the original Sultan of Swat was an MFY was overcome.Swaat it is.Later
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 I went with Sigh too. It is aesthetically a better cover. Also, I remember watching that Dodgers game. Noah's performance was amazing, but I remember it being a very frustrating game. I think that was around the time it dawned on me that our offense might suck. Plus I kinda like Hansel Robles. Kind of a badass. Crazy haircut. I thought he took a good step last year during that multiple inning outing (this might have been the game) where he was forced to mix in his slider a lot more. I thought that was a great development for him, but then he went back to pumping fastballs afterwards. If he can ever learn to throw that slider and mix it up a bit, he could be Addison Reed.

You can take the Thor's hammer angle, you can talk about Thor's thunder striking twice, something about Noah taking two of everything ...OK, those all suck, but still.
