Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Just summoned up the replay of Bruce's shot. I love how we can do that these days. It's a kinda magic.Another sky-ball, like Loney's. Two extra long fly balls.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Reds notched the first two runs in St Loouie, still batting in top 3
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 It's gonna be about if they can hit enough, seems like they'll have the pitching to get by.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Boy, Terry with the quick hook.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 I suspect the off day tomorrow is part of the reason for the quick hook. Not quite sure why it comes vs the light hitting Mathis ...
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Well, it's worked so far.More runs, pleez.

He has mentioned it on a few of the recent post game shows I've seen. The only one he's let go longer was Gsellman in his last start.Later
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 I love the new Jay Bruce. That guy can hit!

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 I've used this line once already but this mound conference with the Marlins pitching coach may be my last chance to use it this season: 'You know nothing Juan Nieves'

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 This game is flyin' by.I did that 2015mfc Mets MVP last season, even put up a poll for it, and Grandy deservedly took home the trophy I imagined he'd have won if I was to make one. This season I think team 2016 MVP, and to me there's no question about it (so far-but I couldn't imagine what would change that with these few games left), is Asdrubal Cabrera. I wasn't even going to put it to a poll. Just make a card naming him MVP.I know Cespedes is doing his thing and some will justifiably say he's the '16 MVP, but in my thinking Cespedes is giving us just what we expected. What Cabrera has given us goes faaaaaaar beyond any expectations. And not just the numbers but the clutchiness. And not just the hitting but the fielding. I think if I did put it up for a poll I would have put Yo, Colon, and Familia in it. I wasn't even considering Granderson.I was Met-chattinup one of my brothers today, Grandy came up and how hot he's been, and my bro says Grandy's the teams 2016 MVP. And I was no way! And we had a pretty long conversion, a debate if you please. He brought up some great points and tried to make me consider a split, Cabby/Grandy. All I could agree on is that if we were just talking about the last two months or so I would split it, but as it stands, for the entire season I would not even put Grandy in the MVP poll. Now he's got me wondering. Not if Grandy is '16 MVP, cuz I don't think there is any way he'd get the votes to beat Cabs or Yo.I just wonder if I should put it to a poll. For the record, who is your 2016 Mets Most Valuable Player?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 One of the beaters said Warthen had said that Lugo was a little fatigued coming in so they weren't going too far.

I'll add a lil Schaeffer logo to those winners. I've done that before.Put another link to the voting. If it isn't any of us using different names I think we have picked up a few voters. Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 lol, and all of the sudden Grandy goes on a Dimaggio like streak. 4 fer 4 tonight
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Red hot Curtis Granderson singles to go 4 for 4 tonight. Come on Bruce, we need some insurance runs.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Let's have a clean inning to 50 saves now
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Doh! I had been away from the game for 2-3 innings doing paperwork for the office and I hadn't caught that Lagares was in the game in place of Bruce. Unfortunately, Lagares provided no insurance. Neither did TJ. 3 outs to go for the victory.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 No insurance for us! I'd like to see Familia nail down #50 here, nice and easy like.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 A 1-2-3 drama free ining would be great.
