A DH due to a rainout would just be the icing we need on the already injury-riddled cake that is our pitching staff.

Aaron Blair vs Syndergaard if and when this comes off.

Blair has made ML 12 starts this year (3 vs NYM) but only once since he started twice in a row vs the Mets back in June. The Mets got him for 3 runs over 5 innings then 8 earned over 4.1 at which point he was immediately demoted to the minors. His one start since his return wasn't a whole lot better [5 runs on 8 hits in 4 IP vs SFG] and he's still looking for his first ML win (0-6)
Overall he sports a 8.23 major league ERA and a 4.77 minor league one despite coming into the season as a top 50-ish prospect and a former 1st round draft pick (36th overall in 2014).

Not 2 days after Terry assured us he'd play Bruce everyday to get him going again, he gets 2 days off.

Not complaining exactly.

The flip side is that Conforto gets his first start in what seemed like 12 days (checking ... it was 15!) and he gets run right back out there the next day.

Wouldn't it be something if that BFG wakes up?

I suspect the only 'plan' regarding Collin's comments about Bruce were to publicly avow confident in him and make any "mental health" days off he gave him seem more like mental health days than the benchings they probably are.

Conforto getting hot could make a huge, huge difference. And he is arguably the best candidate to do just that. This has been one of the beefs I have with Terry. I get that he wanted to get Bruce going, but it should have been at the expense of Loney, not Conforto.

Duda, provided he's actually healthy and not just here to be here, is the best option for more offense. I'd argue Bruce over Conforto too, though Bruce is seemingly as lost as Conforto was in May and June. Anything that gets Loney out of the lineup though.

The thing about Duda is that, unlike Conforto or Bruce, he's been out of circulation, and he's got to head out there not knowing how his back will respond.

But we all seemingly agree that any of these goals should come at the expense of Loney, who should be/have been relegated to pinch-hitter/defense replacement by now.

Any eventual return of Flores should also be pushing against Loney, and is more likely since Flores is already established by and for Terry as a first base option.

Thor looking good in the first.

Again, TJ Rivera with that strange loopy throw. I want an isolated camera on him SNY.

Not such a smooth 2nd. But could have been worse.

3-0 not us.

This place wasn't here for a little bit (at least for me). I got a TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES screen (or something).

The booth is talking about this cover.

But they can't seem to remember that inside that issue was the piece that first brought national attention to some high school sandlot player from Crenshaw High. The black Ted Williams. Fella by the name of Strawberry.

Thor has zero in a game we have to win.

Might as well pull him and hope for a high high scoring game.

LGM

We gotta get 5 from him. Maybe he'll find himself.

This Swanson guy...one team cannot have two nemisis's. Or is it nemisi?

Nemeses, according to wordhippo dot com.
Keith stories crack me up. He was nervous for his SI shoot so they popped open
a bottle of Dom to loosen him up a little. I wonder at what point it hits some stars
to think hot damn this is the freakin' life I got going here.
