I was looking for doppledoozers and looked up Rich Chiles. His Metly claim to fame
per bbrdotcom: "November 27, 1972: Traded by the Houston Astros with Buddy Harris
to the New York Mets for Tommie Agee."

He would have been great if he pronounced his name Rich Chil-lays

Man, we got the absolute best out of Pat Mahomes, didn't we. I dug him on that 99 team.

And what a career Pelf has carved out being the go-to, below-average, innings-eating #5 starter... Wonderful work if you can get it, and slated to make another $8M next year in Detroit, too. Tim Lincecum wishes he could be Mike Pelfrey right now.

There's a lot of good stuff in there!

Kevin Tapani is a member of the Central Michigan University Hall of Fame.

I love that 1988 Topp card of Viola sitting on the step of the Tiger Stadium dugout.

This is very true. But to be honest, I had visions of seeing pics of really hot twins like in the old DoubleMint commercials.

Oh well. Win some. Lose some. Back to Pat Mahomes.

Our interloper is Neil Chrisley, included in the top post on a Senators card. Chrisley never played for the Mets. Chrisley was purchased by the Mets together with Bob Butterball Botz from the Braves in 1961. Chrilsey, like Botz, also participated in the Mets first Spring Training and appeared in exhibition games.

Chrisley got a Mets Topps card (below). Botz didn't.

Thank you for playing.
