Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 T.J. Rivera became a man tonight.

Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Vulture win for Familia. He's gonna have to buy dinner for Thor.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Great win! Too bad T.J. Rivera will be too hung over to play tomorrow.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Author Posted September 13, 2016 Tonight turning out to be just the opposite of last night: Pirates win, Marlins win, Mets win, Cardinals win Giants are still scoreless in the 4th inning. Dodgers lost which pulls them back a game to the WC pack regardless of what SF does and with SF & LA still having six games vs each other, not seeing the Dodgers run away with the West might matter later on.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Got home after the game to find that MMYF had replaced my plain old Mets blue mouse pad with one that pictures lots of bats and baseballs. (Non team specific)Its a good thing they won, or I would have blamed her for the loss. Now, that new mouse pad is staying right here.Later

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Whata fuckingame. And a must win in my book. I hope TJ goes on a tear. Looks like a hitter. I like the .300 bit Edgy posted. But what's up w/his arm? He looked strange throwing to first a few times.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Dusty Baker, quoted at espn.com:""Blevins has been around a long time," Dusty Baker said, trying not to act shocked that Mr. Met-killer came up short. "They know Murph as well as Murph knows them. It's a situation where they got Murph tonight, but Murph's gotten them many, many, many, many, many, many times."What a jackass. I can't wait for the Dodgers to beat them in the NLDS preserving WSH's record of never winning a playoff series. And today I get to sit among their stupid, unknowledgeable, craft beer swilling, Blackberry checking, frontrunning fans.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 I understand. He's pumping his player up in a down movement. Murph does have a lot feel good about and he's reminding him.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 This was only the second game this season that was saved by somebody other than Jeurys Familia. (Addison Reed had one save earlier this season.)

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Although Kristy Ackert didn't touch that angle in her game piece, the Daily News headline writer tried to spin the Rivera heroism as vindication for Backman. It's a tall order, but The News would love to turn the Backman firing into Willywhack II.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 So... Loney should probably be getting a handshake and Shake Shack gift certificate today, along with his long- overdue walking papers, no?

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Because of his association with Wally Backman? Or has Lucas Duda made a dramatic return to the clubhouse?
