Conforto up, Nimmo down

Cespedes wants to play LF from now on. So looks like Lagares will get a lot of playing time (Please Terry, No De Aza). Conforto can only play right in this scenario. There's no real way to platoon Conforto with Granderson, so what's a manager to do?

Cespedes-Granderson-Conforto would be the Mets best hitting outfield. Granderson has, obviously, played little CF.

Lagares could be platooned, worked in against lefties in thar rotation, with Grandy and Conforto absorbing most of the bench-time when Lag plays. Platooning your best hitting outfielders is not the most ideal set-up, however, especially when hitting is clearly the Mets achilles heel. In fact, extending that analogy, the Mets are hitting as if both of their achilles heels are damaged. OTOH, Conforto regaining his pre-malaise stroke would go a very long way towards fixing the Mets hitting woes. His slump was a significant contributor to the team's hitting problems.

Granderson could be traded, but like Mich asks, how much trade value is there? He's 35 and will be owed $16M next year, the last year of his contract. He has value to a team that sees itself in the race this year and thinks it needs an outfielder, but Granderson, alone, won't bring in a marquee name or some young one with a high ceiling.

Conforto could bring that guy in. Despite his Sophomore slump, Conforto's still highly coveted by many teams. It would be somewhat of a shocker if the Mets moved Conforto, and an extremely aggressive move, probably indicating that the Mets think they can still catch the Nats -- extremely aggressive especially since it's not guaranteed that Cespedes will be a Met next season.

Conforto just doesnt fit as an every day player right now because Lagares is hitting enough again this year that his CF defense makes him worth playing ahead of Conforto anyway.

I wish Cespedes would play right. Someone has to convince him that he can't say he has the best arm in the game if he don't show us some rightfield to 3rd laser beams. That still wouldn't solve this problem though.

Would Conforto and Nimmo be similar in value? I feel Conforto showed us more when he was doing well. But Nimmo could be a little spark plug. I'd hate to see either gone.
I don't think you move Granderson for this run. If we fall out of it I'd be okay with that.

I'd rather not trade Conforto or Nimmo. I think they're the future -- especially if Cespedes departs.

Someone will be gone in the next couple of weeks. It would really suck to
see Conforto in another uniform and becoming an all-star.

I don't want to see Conforto, Nimmo, or anyone cept deAza moved.

Some folks say we can get something for Wilmer cause he's hot. I don't think we get anything extra for that. All players get hot sometimes. If it's true that they can get more value for him because of this heat, then do it. Also, I'd rather not see Wilmer go, but in a case like that I'd get over it.

Tyler Clipart supposed to be available. Do we bring him back?

It's hard to argue that Wilmer Flores is hot if he's barely played for almost two weeks.

Nobody ever wants to trade the guy who's going well, or looks good. But, y'know, that's who you trade.

If Nimmo had had a slightly more splashy debut, I'd be shopping him around like he had a clearance-sticker tat on his Osmond-smiling ass. But as far as 4 guys for 3 spots? That's not a problem. That's depth. Everyone plays about 5 times a week, Cespedes only plays once or twice a week in center.
