Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 So, down 3-0, and (the ever-healthy) Grandy, who crashed into a fence earlier, is out of the game.Pearl = baseball insider lingo for a spotless, brand-new baseball, fresh out of the box.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Way to make them throw a strike, Mets. Stay with that approach.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 No more pop-rock nicknames for you, James Loney!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Once they load the bases, is there even any reason to take the remaining ABs in the inning?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 And that inning even had a hit with a RiSP ... but it still didn't score a run because we don't do that.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Resolve fading. Will give it one more inning. If they score I stay up. If not, bed.

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Ok. Night folks. Tomorrow we start a fund to send Ben Grimm to Peru. Alternatively, we could just brainstorm fun things to talk about other than baseball.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 There's $1.26 in the CC, it's a start!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 The following inning we got the two-out hit. Of course there was nobody on at that point.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 I think the only conclusion you can come to is that most hitters simply don't care about triples anymore. You would think that it would be one of the cooler things to do and that batters would get a kick out of it, but apparently not.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Oh well, it's not like we have to face Scherzer tomorrow with a replacement pitcher.Oh wait.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 I have to watch the train wreck to the end.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Nats have 7 hits tonight: 5 of them went for extra bases, 5 of them came with two outs.Take that combo and mix in [u:1q7ych98]Seven[/u:1q7ych98] free passes and the game becomes no contest.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Even we bailed on this one. Was VERY cool of Robles to give us a ball. he also retieved a dropped cellphone of our neighbor but not before "selfy-ing" himself with it. Hes a fun loving bastard, he gave me such a look till he was sure the ball wound up with the kid.Grandy hit that fence pretty hard.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 It's possible that the effort he made for the Lunchbucket family drained him so much that he had nothing left which resulted in his giving up two runs.
Guest cooby Guests Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 When I heard the pregame say a major league debut against the Mets I thought oh no
