Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Wow, Conforto with the cannon to get the runner! Way to save the lead.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I can't call this one. The point of contact is too blurry on the replays I'm getting, but I'm guessing it gets overturned.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 You're a bad guesser - inning over!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 OUT ON REVIEW!! AWESOME!!What a throw.Braves are getting tossed.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Well, that settles that. Conforto for MVP.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I was certain he was safe. But hey, I'll take it.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) Nice gun by Con4to... I think the Braves got dicked on the replay, but these things even out over the course of the season*.*This bbbyyy brought to by yyybbb. Edited June 23, 2016 by Guest
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Someone tweet Keith, ask him if it was a bad slide.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 It was a terrible slide but I don't think Bonicfacio expected the ball to be involved.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I agree that a juicy argument would have been nice there. Just so we could sit back a bit. They should allow 23 seconds for arguing. If he stops b4 the times up, he can't be tossed.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 FFF! grrrrr Blevins going in the 8th hoping to keep his blank inning run intact.FFF on 1st. He did something, got there. I'm not going into details on him anymore. Maybe I jinx him or something.Big K by Blevins. 1 out.

He slide in reaction to lil d', not the ball. He had no freakin idea where the ball was, lol.Again, what a throw.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 gah, fk me.Reed. It would be nice if these guys came thru every time but that's a lot to ask.4-3 Natives
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) Remind me again how many replay challenges a team gets?Braves delay the game to challenge one but then decide against it. Then they do challenge another and lose the challenge and lose the argument after the challenge and the manager gets tossed for doing so.And then a half-inning later they don't like another call and they get to challenge that one.Essentially there's been three judgement calls tonight and the Braves have stopped the game to review the calls all three times.I hereby take back the nice things I said about the replay process 10 minutes ago. Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Time to answer right back. Because that's what championship caliber teams do Also if lil d' is going to throw to 2nd like his last two all the time I will stop worrying about our catcher. Hitting as well would be nice and he has been making some decent contact. He'll start running into a few at the plate.

I'm aware of the rule.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Ugh. Ow. This one really hurt. It's game one of this series and I have the same feeling I had after the sweep, which was as low as I go. If not for the Royal mini-sweep I might have gone lower on my Meto-meter.Not good.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 We can bitch all we want about the depleted lineup but, between the pick-off, the caught stealing, the throw-out at home, and the Braves only coming to bat 8 times, Met pitchers retired just 21 of the 34 hitters they faced tonight and that's simply not good enough. And, yeah, there were some seeing eye hits early on, but there were also a bunch of loud outs. Now 5-5 with the Braves on the year.

There's always a shitty team that sticks it to you.I will keep saying that all night^.If they want to be a doormat for Atlanta then they'll just have to go on and sweep everyone else.

I'm aware of the rule. The guess that it was going to get overturned was logical because since the introduction of replay it seems that too many folks weren't aware of the 'clear and convincing' evidence part of the equation.Like I said, that seems to have been getting better lately (by chance or by design I'm not sure) but too often they've just been replacing live guesswork with grainy video guesswork. Now all they have to do is actually stick to the policy where one wrong challenge actually means you don't get another and then teams would stop challenging every bang-bang play in the 1st inning knowing that a wrong guess won't come back to bite them.

I don't understand why because it works against the goal.
