Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Henderson out with finger malfunction.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 And now the Brewer runner has a finger(s) malfunction.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Wow. Ten innings in and I'm all out of sobriety and concentration skills... where does the day go?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Anudder giftwrapped item for the Mets.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I'm running out of steam, but....[bigpurple:30f8xt3u]11[/bigpurple:30f8xt3u]
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Damn, more RiSP w/no outs ... WE'RE DOOMED!!!!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I might've sent Cabrera just because I don't want to face the three more at bats with the go-ahead run on third. But he broke stride less than half-way to third.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 One.And yes, I would have sent Cabrera on that popup. To his likely doom, of course, but I'd've sent him.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 This may be the worst-played baseball game in the history of mankind.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 That's some solid Babe Ruth-level beisbol right there.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 (edited) And we STILL don't have a run-scoring hit - despite 15 baserunners !! Edited June 10, 2016 by Guest
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Also notable is that, once the play was made at second, the force is lifted off of Flores, but he took off anyshmutz. What the hell?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Now Familia has to pitch with a one-run lead.Crazypants baseball tonight.

Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Even watching all these replays, don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it. Bizzarro, in a bizzarro game.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I'll tell you, Elvira hasn't moved the whole game.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 J.F. with a rare (lately anyway) no-muss, no-fuss save.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 #3 behind the plate kept throwing Fonzie thumbs up after every pitch.Best save in months for Familia.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Only the fourth time in team history the team has allowed three or fewer hits in a game that went 11 innings or more. The team is the first Wild Card team with a game-and-a-half lead on the second. They've won three in a row and sit two and a half off the division lead. All sounds pretty good... for a team not playing particularly well.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 That was a very fun game...even if not very well played. Lots of Mets fans in town, I'm guessing due to the 7 Line game on Saturday.Gelbs checking Twitter pre-game.I'm not sure what was up with these ass-eaters.Scored seats in front of the on deck circle.Sleeve of the guy sitting next to me.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 A quick synopsis on the recent hitting incompetencyOver the last two games the Mets have had 22 at bats with 2 or more runners on base: 2 became Sac Bunts (both successful!!) and 2 were intentional walks, so we're really down to 18 here. Of those 18:- 4 resulted in Ks- 5 infield pop-ups!- 2 fly outs, neither of which scored a run (too shallow or with two outs)- 3 ground-outs (no runs)- 3 singles, but only two of which left the infield and only one which resulted in runs - and finally last night's line-out/fire-drill which somehow resulted in a run and only one outSo BA-wise they were 3/18 (.167) and only 4 times out of those 18 did they get the ball out of the infield.Just 2 at-bats resulted in RBI(s): Plawecki's rather weak seeing-eye single (2 RBI) Thursday night, last night's FC/line-out that was first dropped and then misplayed (1 run).
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Cool pics, great seats!Gelbs checking thecranepool pre-game.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 So, the number of boners the Brewers middle infield committed on what eventually turned out to be the game-losing play:[*:3sq7nkmt]Villar dropped an utterly catchable liner.[/*:m:3sq7nkmt][*:3sq7nkmt]He elected not to go throw home. It would have been forsaking the double-play, but the presence of the force and hard-hit ball made it a perfectly sound (if not risk-free) option for preserving the tie.[/*:m:3sq7nkmt][*:3sq7nkmt]He made a bad feed to second, further undermining the double play (which would have been a cinch had he caught the liner).[/*:m:3sq7nkmt][*:3sq7nkmt]Second baseman Gennett still could have possibly held the bag while fielding that ball, but failed, and instead had to come off and double back for the force, killing any sliver of a chance remaining for the no-run-scoring double-play.[/*:m:3sq7nkmt][*:3sq7nkmt]Gennett chased down a runner that was already out.[/*:m:3sq7nkmt][*:3sq7nkmt]A runner that was safe (Flores) panicked and came off the bag, and Gennett ignored him, allowing a potential insurance run to reach third instead of ending the inning.[/*:m:3sq7nkmt][/list:o:3sq7nkmt]So yeah, if we can continue to hold teams to three hits or fewer over 11 innings, and get their go-ahead runs overturned on appeal, and just hold out until they eventually trip over their own feet and set themselves on fire, we should be good. Sound like a plan?
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 I didn't get to see the bazaar end of this game until a few minutes ago. And all I can say ATM is I want to see that again.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 This little guy just cracks me up every time.
