Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Can Reed pitch the 9th too?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Reed looked good, but he got some calls there. He actually was spotting his pitches like Harvey used to.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2016 Author Posted May 30, 2016 OK, another 8-pitch perfect inning from Reed.Considering that, plus how bad Familia's been lately, how much Familia threw last night, and that the pitcher's slot isn't likely to come up in this inning ... I'd send Reed back out there for the 9th/save.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Albers looks like a guy on a company rec league softball team.
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 I have to say, Cabrera has exceeded my expectations. Good pickup, Sandy!

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 It's just so obviously right to stick with Reed.

He will almost assuredly send Familia out for the save. Regardless of how pitchers are doing, most managers will choose to win or lose with their closer.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Good to see the first pitch overpower the batter.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 oooof. I would have given Familia a breather today. I go to the school of "throw him back out there" but.... not today. Three bad ones in a row is too much to risk. But this is a one run game and TC feels you have to use him. I guess. This is a save situation so let's see if it makes him any sharper..
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 He is following thru today. Not aiming.1 out.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 The Mets win and there is much rejoicing!!
Guest Mets Guy in Michigan Guests Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Huge game for Harvey. Keeps him sane!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Twitter is singing the praises of Rene Rivera and want d'Arnaud & Plawecki sent packin'. Ha. People are freaky.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Final line for The Dark Knight: 7 IP, 2 H, 1BB, 0 R, 6 K.This is sooooo very nice to see.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Well, it was the first time in a while he looked like vintage Harvey. Good crisp game, as Quintana was on point as well. And glad to see vintage Fammy also.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Due to weekend plans, I had gone without Mets baseball for over 36 hours! This was a good one to come back to.Harvey looked multitudes better than any other outing this season to me.
