Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 By ticket, you mean the train fare? Would be better strategically to get a metrocard before the game than after if you can spare the time. Vending machines are in the station.

We are driving in and usually end up parking somewhere near the old Shea bases. Though he could always walk over there and get situated and then meet us at our seats, I suppose.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 you'll see it opposite the Rotunda entrance, just a short walk
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Can't miss it from the Shea-bases parking lot...

We should have some kind of meet-up before The PiazzaGame. Beers in bags on Roosevelt Ave, McF's, Irish bar in Woodside... something.Time flies! I'll be in McF's relatively early tomorrow if anyone wants to looks for a bigbald guy in a well-worn FaFiF shirt. I'm on the left field 300 level for the game so also have several club options during game if that works better.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 On my way. I'm actually in the air right now. I love the modern miracle of in-flight WiFi.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 This week I'll be at the Thursday matinee and the Friday night game.Is anyone else going to be there?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 I left extra time in my biztrip this week to check out Target Field. Poor Twins had a 5-0 lead on Dallas Kuechel on Wednesday night only to be rained out (like, no joke, 5 or 6 inches of rain fell). I went to the regularly scheduled Camp Day game yesterday, Astros took a 6-0 lead after 2 then pulled away, so much so that the Twins brought in shortstop Eduardo Escoabar who pitched a scoreless inning. Astros were killing the ball all day but only managed weak contact vs, Escobar, mostly shallow line drives.I didn't stick around for Game 2, but the Astros crushed them then also.Twins' Kennys Vargas, who's a gigantic guy, had 2 HRs in the loss.Twins look awful in their all-red jerseys but I realized it was probably a Target thing.Very readable scoreboards, a plus. Hard to see bullpens a minus. That they play Peter Cetera's "Glory of Love" during Kiss Cam, big minus.I'm pretty immune to new-stadium-ness. It's nice like most new parks are, and the staff were all "Minnesota nice." Let me stash my suitcase at guest services. I sat right in front of the "Two Gingers" bar which gave me relief from the sun. Food choices were 'eh.' Had a turkey sammish and a local IPA. Best thing about the park was access to the train, it's right downtown, skyline over RCF. Took the train from downtown St. Paul where my meting was to the park, then from the park to the airport, all for $5.In St. Paul I had beers at "Tom Reid's Hockey Town" bar. Reid was a North Stars player and owns the distinction of being the only player ever to score a penalty shot on Ken Dryden. Was also a broadcaster. Just a stoopit amount of hockey stuff on the walls.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 It was great. Only, theirs looked like statues of Kirby Puckett and Harmon Killebrew. I didn't get it.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 I'll be attending the Reds at the Brewers today for a company outing. Battling for 4th place in the NL Central.

He contains multitudes.Their stadium seems to have a unique shape. Does the shell/shape feel or look a little funny from the inside?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Funny shape? Unless round is funny...No, I didn't notice much odd in the inside. I guess it's a pretty "tight" stadium overall, they stack those outfield seats up pretty high. And as I said I was surprised to realize how "downtown" it was, it's right up against a highway, the commuter rail tracks, other streets and buildings, a plaza that leads to the basketball arena etc. So kudos the the Twins for doing this. I'm not sure where people park. The shape of it only got me as I exited and did 3/4 perimeter where a 1/4 would have sufficed. The train passed the new Vikings Stadium on the way, sort of on the other end of downtown. It's like one gigantic window.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 With 22 games left and only 10 at home I feel the urge to go at least onemore time. The Sun game against the Twins is looking good so far...Fri 09/16 Twins 7:10Sat 09/17 Twins 7:10Sun 09/18 Twins 1:10Mon 09/19 Braves 7:10Tue 09/20 Braves 7:10Wed 09/21 Braves 7:10Thu 09/22 Phils 7:10Fri 09/23 Phils 7:10Sat 09/24 Phils 7:10Sun 09/25 Phils 1:10
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I've embarrassingly only been to one game. I'd like to take Ceetarette out to one this year, gonna have to be either of those Sundays I suppose, but the 18th is Oompahfest at Plattdeutsch so that leaves the 25th. Though I wanted to get up to the Renn Faire, and apple picking..Oof. Maybe I should play hooky from work and just go to a night game and leave early.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 I've also only been to one game, which is about par for me. The oddity is that I didn't get to a game until September; usually I go in April or May. But this hasn't been at all a typical year for me.I was interested to learn that the Mets have only won ten games this year in which they haven't homered, and the one game I attended was one of them. (Saturday, September 3.)I doubt that I'll get up to Citi Field again in 2016, but if the final weekend in Philadelphia has the Mets playing for a playoff spot, I'll be very tempted to go to at least one of those games.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 We'll be at Closing Day. Come tailgate with us!

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 I have an extra for Tuesday the 20th vs. the Braves, any takers? Bad news is you have to sit next to me.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Mazel Tov!I think you chose Ceetarette, but I always think of her as Ceetarella.

I'm assuming taking her to Opening Day and leaving the wife with the possibly weeks old newborn is not a suggested activity.
