I have no memory of this player, but God bless him, he looks like a guy from semi-amateur theater playing a baseball player. Even his name seems contrived.

That is cool! And what's an Astros version of the Sadecki Spot?

Crikey. I have vivid memories of that set, but I was 100% sure that card was fake. Interesting.

TOPPSnow added another Mets player card.
Wilmer's 6 hit game. A beautiful card.
I figured they might issue one for Flores but I didn't even go look. Just ran into this while card surfing and I would have to think the opportunity to get Wilmers card has come & gone.

Good.

It really is a beautiful card though. But not 10 bucks of beautiful.

I used to love Colorforms! Do they even still make those?

OE: They do! Not the same box things that I remember, but still around.

I absolutely had this Batman set!!!

I had many Colorforms sets as a child. That Batman was one. I loved those sets.
It was like a little stage and you put on a play. Enjoyed many hours of fun.

I'm looking for other old sets that I had and could only find this, probably my first.
I was a big fan of Shari Lewis & her puppets around the time that I watched Romper Room and Captain Kangaroo every morning.

A vague memory of this weatherman

Don't recall a Beatles Colorform set. I would think Ida wanted one of those.
Not sure when I grew out of them but having younger brothers they were still always around the house.

With Colorforms, anything could happen!

Not too many old sets out there. I guess these sets were well used and eventually discarded.

I looked for Colorforms a couple years ago but could not find them. Very sad if they don't make them. I guess kids are into stickers now

Thank you! I think I know somebody who would like the Frozen and Dic Mcstuffins colorforms!

Wow. Impressive. It hasn't happened since the Titanic roamed the ocean.

And a ToppsNOW error card. No other Mets honored for the ASG. GJ Topps.

Topps made the Yo card before it was announced he wasn't starting. They honored all the elected starters.

OO, you take your cards serious. Sorry, I meant that as a joke. I figured they jumped the gun. So quick to grab those NY bucks. I guess that can be kind of kool tho, having a card that says Cespedes was in an ASG that he wasn't in.

Oh maaan, those bastages! I have a deGrom card collection in the works and, ugh, I really want this. Don't wanna support this shit tho, these prices they charge.

Gah! I was hoping the time already expired. 16 hours left. ugh, this is going to torture me for 15 hours and 55 minutes.

That's the game.

As long as there are completionists, there will be another product to exploit us with.

I just bought it and I am very disappointed with myself. Seriously. I have to stick to my guns with this. It's my own personal protest. If everyone did the same thing and stopped buying them at $9.99, that price would go down, or at least I'd like to think it would. All I can do is my part.

The Bart: Got it because it was such a great Mets moment, also Metropolitan historical & MLB history.

The Wright: I didn't want to say this then, but we may as well face the possibility, this could be one of Wright last baseball cards and it will be (super?) rare by design.

The deGrom: I got back into baseball cards (always bought a few packs but started buying blisters and such) around 2012. Like with Gooden in the 1984, Matt Harvey's rook card drew me back in. So I was able to collect all these new Mets rook pitchers cards.

deGrom, Thor, Matz, Wheeler, & Harvey. I have started a nice collection for each. I won't get obsessive. Can't afford to. If I get the Topps parallel or the real rare/expensive black border version in a pack, great. But I won't go crazy. I'm interested in the players base set rookie, anything else is gravy.

So I got the deGrom because it was a HUGE personal milestone for him to pitch a complete game and it will be the gem of my deGrom collection. At least until he pitches his no-no.

OE: ^apparently I'm trying to justify these purchases to myself.
Next time I talk about a ToppsNOW card yell at me and tell me to stick to my guns!

Start yelling at me folks! SOMEBODY STOP MEH!

I kid. Very nice card but I'd rather wait till his streak ends and hopefully they will commemorate the entire run. Maybe I'd go for that card.
Topps, you couldn't have waited until he rounded it out at 50? Sheesh.

He don't sell cards like Seaver does. It could have/should have been a 3 panel tribute.

I'm getting the card, dagnabbitt. And that's what Tom does, because if it was Thor alone I'd have passed. I have all of Seaver's baseball cards, a nice collection. Those bastages!!!

I went for the 5 card deal. Looks like only 2 of my brothers want one so I will have some extras.
I also have 2 extra of the Wright clutch walk-off card, if anyone wants to make a trade.
Of course, I'm only interested in Mets cards, and preferably any ToppsNOW card that concerns the Mets. I have purchased 3:
>Colon HR (May 7th)
> Wright Walk-off (May 21)
>deGrom 1 hitter (July 17)

Yikes, I just noticed they have "relic" ToppsNOW cards.
There's a Mookie Betts relic card that includes a piece of his bat.
There's a bunch, color variations (or something). All crazy priced, one going for $699.99.
That's fuckin' insane.

I wonder if the bat pieces are from the bat he hit the three homers with
(the card commemorates that, 2nd time this season Mookie blasted 3 kaBOOMs).'
That would be superkool and might merit a crazy price. But still.

If you wanna get into collecting baseball cards these days you better be rich.

Yeah, I know. I was bring rhetorical.

Make room for another one.

Nope. There are quite a few Mets ToppsNOW cards I didn't even try to get.

I'd like that Colon, and the Mets /Yankees Colon. Since I have the Colon HR card it would be a nice. But not nine-ninty-nine-nice.

If Seaver wasn't on that last one I would have easily passed. I don't consider these to be regular issue circulated baseball cards.
These are bonus babies.

Now they are selling limited sets. The ToppsNOW stuff must be doing well. Maybe everything will be limited down the line. This says BUNT. Does that mean its only a virtual set?

http://www.topps.com/collectibles/trading-cards/topps-crossover.html/

Cespedes is in the set but I'm not biting.
