Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 .Vote for the tabloid covers that you like the best. You may select up to three choices. Voting will run for seven days.New Met Juan Uribe delivers a walk-off win against the Dodgers.Mets acquire reliever Tyler Clippard from Oakland.Jenrry Mejia is suspended again.A win by Noah Syndergaard puts the Mets one game behind Washington.Thinking he was traded to Milwaukee, Wilmer Flores is seen crying on the field.A crushing loss on a rainy night at Citi Field.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 'Clip & Save' is pretty good, but 'Blunder Storm' sums up the Mets at that point. Isn't it amazing to look at these with the benefit of hindsight? Wilmer crying and the fiasco of the Gomez non-deal and an epic collapse in the rain, it looked like we'd bought tickets on the Hindenburg. But then........
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 U Da, Clip, and Crying (Newsday) to round out July.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 I'm not sure accuracy is on a list of priorities for the Post, but does someone want to explain to them what exactly "one and done" means, and maybe "blockbuster" too?
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Lots of great stuff in hear. Went with U Da man, When it Rains in Pours, and the DN version of Crying Shame.Two-Time and One and Done are also great, but don't make the cut here. I want to know what this Pedro Party was all about and why we weren't invited.

I don't yet know if I'll do this again in 2016, but I think it's working well this year because 2015 had a particularly dramatic arc.

That's the great part. For me, this idea would have occurred to me around mid-August, and it would have been just another "You know what would have been great? If we had...." ideas.
Guest d'Kong76 Guests Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 I'm particularly enjoying them because it's my first time seeing them.I don't visit the tabloid sites and only get the local-cat-box-liner paperdelivered. I'm reminded that one thing I miss about working at an of-fice full time was the receptionist always had The Snooze and Post andI'd stop and look at the front and back pages every day.

That's the great part.Well, no, not really. I thought of this in September, and then I decided to backtrack to August, and then July and then said, what the hell, let's go all the way back to February. I probably will start capturing 2016 pages in February, but the question is whether or not I stick with it throughout the season. If I do, then we'll do this again next year.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 2015 was unusually dramatic. If you'd done this in 2014 (or 2009-13) it wouldn't have been nearly as much fun.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Usually when they double up it cancels each other out. Crying Shame was a triple! Had to pick one of those though, it was such a pivotal event. I like the Post layout best.

Plus the Daily News had that whole Loose Dentures thing going on.
Guest cooby classic Guests Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Lol, I noticed the Loose Dentures thing too.I like the Clip & Save, though Clippard didn't impress me none
