Am I the only person who draws a small inference in the back of his head that Sandy Alderson has collapsed again each and every time this thread jumps to the top, and he has some sort of chronic collapsing condition?

Not sure if it's related to the fainting episode during the Terry press conference, but the NY Post is reporting that [u:14oux8d2]Sandy is about to undergo 8-to-12 weeks of chemotherapy for a "treatable" form of cancer[/u:14oux8d2] according to a club announcement this morning.
Alderson will continue in his duties as GM, though he will miss next week’s Winter Meetings. This comes on the heels of him skipping last month's GM meeting after briefly collapsing following a Citi Field press conference.

Wowza. Get well Sandy. Not suprised about Jeff, though. He'll be making all the big decisions soon and inevitably. It's in his character and he can't help himself.

That they won't report the type of cancer and say in advance that they'll not be any updates as the treatment goes on certainly doesn't calm any nerves.

NYDN: Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said Tuesday he had surgery "a week ago Wednesday" as part of his treatment for cancer, and that the procedure was "fantastically successful" and had been planned since December when Alderson and the Mets announced his diagnosis with the disease. "The surgery was pre-planned. It was part of an overall strategy that was devised by my doctors early in December. The surgery followed a very successful regime of chemotherapy. The doctors were able to do everything they had hoped to do, and were able to avoid everything they hoped to avoid."

Not just successful folks, but fantastically successful.

Next thing you knew, he gets Johnson and Uribe and, true to his word, as you can tell this year, the Mets got sick of how much depth they had.
