If all that's true, then Lenny just confirms to the world that he's a bigger idiot than most already think, AND he also reveals that he's maybe not as good at baseball since the umps were just doing him favors.

Poor Lenny's a dumb shit-head.

PS - HOW DID DYKSTRA GO BROKE I CAN'T FIGURE THIS OUT

If I were Keith and Wally I wouldn't comment either. He'd probably take me for a ride in a car and wreck me into a tree or something.

Seriously.

"Oh, I (nervous laugh) don't know anything about that." /backs away

I hope Dykstra realizes that, while he may think he's just shooting the shit with the worst person in sports broadcasting, he's actually confessing to a pretty serious crime.

Double serious.

I heard about this yesterday but couldn't find enough interest in it to post - mainly because I don't believe a word of it.
This is all in advance of an upcoming book apparently - which nobody would know about if he didn't throw in something that's both wild and likely unprovable.

DYKSTRA: [squints at Edgy quizzically]
DYKSTRA: [shrugs]
DYKSTRA: [wipes hands off on suit front; goes back to idiotin' as hard as he knows how]

I hate reading things like that. I loved those late eighties teams.

Reading about what went down 20+ years ago doesn't dismay me. I mean, we all already know enough by now not to be illusioned or disillusioned. But what's sad to me is that Lenny despite prison, bankruptcy, divorce, familial estrangement, and all the public disgrace associated with that still thinks he's smarter than the house and is one big score away from walking away with the big pot and showing everybody once and for all. Just like Pete Rose.

Any word on whether Cecil Fielder ever found his moral compass?

Its not hard to read because I'm disillusioned.

It's hard to read because I hate seeing bad things happen to someone who I loved watching play ball

Why is Colin Cowpie the worst person in sports broadcasting? I don't like him either, and i don't necessarily disagree with you, but I'm just wondering what in particular makes you say that.

In the great big world of sports broadcasting, he probably isn't, but he certainly indulges in every hateful infuriating, listener-baiting tactic that the diminishes the culture. He's a bully that encourages his listeners to bully on his behalf, he's a snot, he's a childish screamer, he's a race-baiter, he's a megalomaniac, and he seemingly has a plastic surgery problem, which is kinda weird for a radio personality.

His setting himself up with FOX Sports and then, instead of leaving ESPN, deliberately getting himself fired with a barrage of thinly veiled racism was the icing on the cake. Which, of course, just validates the assumptions that FOX Sports echoes the generally understood ugliest values of FOX News.

Couldn't listen to him for more than 5 minutes on ESPN, so I wouldn't bother now. Don't understand the angry-at-everything-all-the-time schtick from him or anyone else.

Lenny's a doofus. He didn't bribe anybody. He's trying to sell books because he's broke.

i missed the whole "veiled racism" thing. i guess i don't pay much attention to him.

And I'm sure it has brought you happier living.

That crazy lady who threatened the clerk at the towing pound, she's on my ballot also.
