Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 MLB network playing the Howie audio from the Murphy base-running:"Daniel Murphy often makes you conk your forehead and say 'what is he doing', and you mean it in the perjorative(!) but this time you say 'what is he doing' and it's amazing!"I think I got that right
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Mattingly said Ethier was screaming because he was mad about a bad call. Mattingly tried to calm him down "I tried to calm him down, I didn't want him thrown out of the game. maybe he yelled at me a bit for trying to calm him down"There's another Ripken speculating that Ethier may have been mad that Mattingly wasn't helping/protecting by arguing with the ump himself. At this point I don't beliven anything said by a Ripken.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Author Posted October 15, 2015 Random thought that I missed posting earlier but did actually think of at the time:When Familia was batting with two outs in the 9th, I wanted the Mets to run a double-steal. He wasn't going to get a hit; the Dodgers wouldn't be expecting it; maybe they throw the ball away.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I was kinda thinking something similar. Get stupid there, Mets.

TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Sorry I missed the IGT thread with youse all last night. It was a thriller of a game that I watched from my couch as I bit my fingernails down to bloody stumps.I'm happy for all of us. Every time I've caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror over the past 12 hours, I've had a huge grin.
