Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Darren O'Day, you esteemed former Met, I place my joy in your hands.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Some more clutch hitting by Harper ends it.

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Weren't they supposed to play a double header today as a result of a rainout earlier in the week?Later

dinosaur jesus Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Today (meaning Thursday) was going to be an off day. So they used it for the makeup game.I miss doubleheaders.
dinosaur jesus Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Whaddya know. Michael Taylor just misplayed a single into a Little League grand slam.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 Wheels coming off is the final insult.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 A Cody Asche homer and the Phils are up by 8-2.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 And the Mets are now up 6-0.But 1 is the most important number on line.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 It appears that we will be seeing Mookie in the countdown thread tonight.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 .Fuck it. [bigpurple:1i4jwnp6]LET'S GO NATIONALS!!!![/bigpurple:1i4jwnp6]
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 I'm with you for today. I would much rather the Mets clinch the playoff spot today with a win over the Reds, than the clincher being due to the Nationals losing.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 The only downside is surprise twin 2-game streaks and an off-day clinch in absentia Monday.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Not going to happen. I have cahnfidence that the Mets will take care of business and win today.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Still tied in the 11th. Of course, who the hell cares anymore?
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2015 Author Posted September 26, 2015 The game eventually ended (the Nationals clinched second-place) but I'd like to think of Washington as the Howard Jarvis character after the credits in Airplane, sitting and waiting, with the Phillies, in the back of their cab, waiting for the driver to come back and realizing he ain't gonna show.Bryce Harper said he hopes the Mets win the World Series. His manager managed like he wished that all along.
